Jaco & Jenny
Jaco and Jenny met on Tortola in the BVIs in 2011 and have been crewing together aboard beautiful luxury sailing catamarans as a Captain and 1st Mate / Chef team ever since.
In addition to chartering in the British Virgin Islands, they have also chartered in other Caribbean Islands including Saint Martin, Anguilla, Saint Bart's, Saint Kitts & Nevis, Turks & Caicos and the Bahamas. Jaco and Jenny agree that the waters of the British Virgin Islands are their favorite area to host wonderful sailing vacation. The distance between the islands allow for very comfortable and enjoyable day sails, with plenty of snorkeling, hiking and beach bars along the way.
Jaco and Jenny are an experienced and energetic professional crew who combine their sense of adventure into an unforgettable experience for A2's charter guests.
Jaco grew up in South Africa's wine country, Stellenbosch. He moved to Cape Town to pursue his love for the ocean, sailing in the shadow of the famous Table Mountain, where from 18 - 22 years of age, he worked aboard a day sail charter catamaran. Jaco then began delivering newly launched catamarans to exotic destinations such as Baja, Tortola, Croatia, Mallorca, and the island of Mauritius in the Indian Ocean. He has over 85,000 nautical miles of ocean crossings to add to his credit. His career took him to a position as 1st Mate, aboard a 100 foot Sailing Yacht cruising around Germany, Denmark and Holland, and the entire Mediterranean Sea during the summer of 2010. Eventually, Jaco left Italy bound for the British Virgin Islands. Very keen on watersports activities, he enjoys wakeboarding, surfing, sailing, snorkeling, and of course the latest craze, paddle boarding. Anything to do with the ocean. ..read more
Jenny grew up sailing on Sydney Harbour, Australia, competitively racing Lasers for 9 years, before moving onto Moths and other fast sailing dinghies. At the age of 15 Jenny saved up and bought her own keel boat, a 19ft Endeavour and took friends out on regular sailing adventures exploring Sydney Harbour. At 20, Jenny's dreams began to gravitate towards working on the water, including a 55 foot racing yacht in the Whitsundays on the Great Barrier Reef, taking guests from all over the world swimming with Whale Sharks on the Ningaloo Reef in Western Australia and embracing the opportunity to join a 120ft Tall Ship which focuses on Youth Development.
At college, Jenny perused a course in Hospitality and this carried her into cooking onboard charter yachts. She enjoys using fresh local produce and is always playing around with new dishes. Jenny is passionate about cooking healthy food, embracing the delicious natural flavors local produce has to offer.
Enjoying sailing, diving, swimming, snorkeling, hiking, wake skating, paddle boarding, Jenny is eager to join the guests on their adventures whenever possible. Charter guests will find Jenny is a joy to be on charter with, as you will see she absolutely loves what she does. Her vibrant personality and delicious dishes are inspiring and guests will love her amazing smile.

Jenny and Jaco were the best crew that we've ever had. They were beyond accommodating, paying close attention to everyone's preferences regarding everything from the day's planned activities to each meal's preparation. Without gushing, I'll just say that they exceeded our expectations in every way.
A2 was very clean and nothing was ever out of place. My favorite aspect was the fly bridge, it had shade for those of us people with fair skin and an ample seating area for us all to be together.
Jenny food was beautifully presented and delicious. She paid close attention to everyone's food preferences, sometimes serving three different entrees to accommodate everyone. She did it graciously, never acting like it was an inconvenience to her. She prepared every dish perfectly, especially the duck. It was perfectly seasoned and cooked. She even surprised us with flavor combinations that we had never had before, which is hard to do considering that we own a restaurant. Her food was better than anything that we could get in any restaurant in the BVIs.
They made sure that everyone's wants and needs were met. Some of us wanted to swim, others wanted to snorkel, others wanted to do water sports, and others wanted to get off the boat and visit bars or play bocce. They made sure that everyone was happy and got to do the activities that they wanted.
Jenny is the best chef we've had on 8 charter cat trips. Jaco and Jenny would definitely be our preference for crew on future charters.
