CAPTAIN BRAND VAN DYK
Brand grew up in Middelburg, a small country town in South Africa. The beautiful region, dotted with lakes, and a dad who took his sons hiking, camping, boating and fishing, inspired Brand's love for the mountains and exploring the outdoors. The hobie cat he commanded as a small boy ignited his passion for sailing.
It is no surprise that Brand ultimately steered a course away from the corporate world toward a career that combines his love for sailing, diving entertaining, meeting new people and exploring. He has sailed thousands of miles worldwide and has been a charter yacht captain in the British and U.S. Virgin Islands for the last four years.
While Brand knows how to host a discreet charter, he most enjoys an interactive charter. He says, "I have a few secret spots where I love to take my guests for a sundowner drink with some bubbly and I also love to show my guests the underwater world while snorkeling or diving." Simply put, Brand eagerly shares the best of everything, above and below the waterline.
Brand has the sort of easy going personality that makes everyone feel comfortable. He's a patient instructor and his enthusiasm can be contagious. Don't be surprised if you're trimming the sails, or spontaneously attempting to free dive or kiteboard with him, he inspires confidence. His goal is to make every day of every charter the most remarkable. His repeat charter guests will tell you he succeeds...read more
JAYDE COUZYN, CHEF/MATE
Jayde is the sort of effervescent personality that never has a bad mood. The glass is always full of something wonderful. She is an intrepid adventurer who seeks out the new and exciting; exploring new places, meeting new people and learning new skills. In addition to being an excellent chef and a certified captain, she's a scuba diver, horse rider and kite boarder. Guests aboard Seahome always compliment her cuisine as well as her ability to anticipate guests and provide for guests needs.
Jayde grew up on a farm in South Africa, surrounded by all sorts of animals amidst the beauty of nature. While the childhood setting was idyllic, it was the two months she spent every year on the seashore with her grandmother that inspired both her cooking and her wanderlust. Her most cherished memories are of time spent in Grandmas kitchen, learning cooking tips and tricks and family recipes.
Jayde says, "My favorite style of cooking is fresh, healthy and hearty meals; because that's the way I like to eat." Guests will tell you she adds those special gourmet touches that make her food delicious. She also excels at special diets and special requests. Even when Jayde is not in the galley whipping up something delightful, she is likely planning something special, an activity or experience, that will be a highlight for guests to remember long after their charter.
Brand and his partner Jayde have been living and chartering in the Virgin Islands. Brand is certified RYA Offshore. Jayde is an RYA Coastal Skipper. In addition to skilled seamanship, this charming team is fun, energetic and intelligent, exactly what it takes to run a successful charter yacht. Impeccable reviews testify to their popularity and professionalism. They are non smokers, immaculate organizers and passionate about sailing.
LOUISE LANGELLO, STEWARDESS
Louise grew up in Mt. Gretna, Pennsylvania, a truly small town (population of 197) surrounded by pastures, fields and woods. She and her three sisters were sports enthusiasts and enjoyed the great outdoors as their playground. They also taught special needs athletes and assisted their father who started and coached the Special Olympics soccer team. Every year the family vacationed on the eastern seaboard. It was a great adventure. They never visited the same spot twice. Visiting new places, meeting new people, and experiencing new things became Louise's lifelong passion.
In 2009, Louise graduated from the Baltimore School of Massage and made the exciting move from land-locked Pennsylvania to the sandy shores of the Virgin Islands. She recalls, "Never did I think I would work on boats until my first power boat excursion to the British Virgin Islands. I was nothing but smiles, felt extremely blessed, and made it my goal to work on the water."
Louise is very good-natured, makes friends easily, enjoys a good joke and a sundowner now and then. She is a wonderful companion for charter guests who want to hike, snorkel, scuba dive, or have an adventure. Anegada is her favorite destination on a charter itinerary. Here locals surround the yacht to sing out their lobster recipes, white sand beach wraps the entire island, the reef is spectacular, and the ways to have fun are infinite.
Wherever SEAHOME anchors, Louise enthusiastically shares her local knowledge with guests. She makes every charter a richer and more memorable experience.

Thank you for everthing. The sailing, hospitality and adventure was second to none. I am very grateful for the amazing crew and boat. Thanks for everything. Much Love, Victoria xoxo
This was truly the cruise of a lifetime. My best trip ever and I am 71 years old. The Seahome is beautiful and simply a perfect sailing vessel, but the best part of the trip was the crew. Their impeccable service, fine dining, and genuine warmth made this my favorite vacation ever! Thanks. Jim
What a fabulous cruise! The scenery, the laughs, the true experience of a yacht trip. Words cannot describe the wonderful captain and crew. Within a short period of time they anticipated our needs as individuals, looked out for our safety and encouraged and joined in the fun. The food was outstanding!!! I want the recipes! The flavor combinations as well as the presentation was lovely! Capt. Brand's updates and daily schedule kept us all waiting for the next adventure. My love to each of you and thank you so very much. Louise, thanks for watching over me and also getting me safely in and out of the dinghy! My love, Joyce
I thought this trip was going to be fantastic, and it actually was FANTASTIC, exceeding all of our expectations. The SEAHOME is a gorgeous sailing vessel and we so enjoyed learning a bit about how to navigate. New Years Eve at Bitter End and New Years day at Peter Island were highlights, as were Anagada and the hike on Virgin Gorda through the baths and to Devils Cave. Its been a trip of a lifetime thanks to you Brand Jayde & Louise. Thank you for anticipating every need and handling all the issues without complaint. You are all special people with wonderful talents! Anne
New friends thats what I feel about this wonderful crew! The crew of SEAHOME added such a positive experience to this trip. Ritchie
This cruise through paradise far exceeded my expectations. I always heard the crew makes the trip. That could not be more true with Brand, Jayde and Louise. They were awesome hosts. The food was spectacular. The service 5 star! Bravo!
So very impressed with the three of you. Your free-spirits, fantastic attitudes, finest dining on the sea, and unparalleled fastidiousness absolutely made this trip a lifetime memory. Thanks my friends! Mike
We had a wonderful time. Brand and Jayde were great as was the boat. Hard to beat last time but I think we did. Thanks so much for working with us and making the trip work. We have recommended your company to many of our friends. I hope to plan another trip someday. Take care and we'll be in touch.

We just got back on Friday from our Charter with Brand and Jayde and I wanted to send you a note with my deeply felt thanks. As you know from our initial conversation, I had never done a charter previously and as such I was relying completely on you to assist me in making the right decision. Although you havent met me or my brothers, trust me that if Id made the wrong decision, my loving brothers would have made my life hell (I say this in the most loving way). Well, I cant speak for my brothers, but I can tell you that this trip exceeded my every expectation. From the first step on the boat, until our bittersweet departure it was amazing. As you advised, choosing Captain Brand and First Mate Jayde was what made the trip so spectacular. I cant say enough about them. I completely understand now what you said about choosing the crew as opposed to the boat. The two of them complement each other perfectly to create the perfect crew. They created the best 60th birthday gift for our brother Daniel imaginable. Anyway, I wanted to share with you the above and once again express my utmost thanks.
Aaron S., Florida
I am the birthday boy Daniel. My brother articulated our adventure to perfection. The only problem will be how will we be able to match a future adventure for my other brothers' birthdays that could equal this trip. Very tough act to follow. Thank you.

Had a great time, no complaints!
Brand and Jayde were terrific. Very knowledgeable about the boat, took us on a great circuit of the BVIs, Jayde's a great cook with a tiny kitchen. Both very nice, easy to talk to, low key, casual.
Hope to do it again someday!

Luci and I wanted to take some time and let you know we had the best vacation of our lives on the yacht charter you recommended to us and assisted us in booking (March 28 - April 4, 2015). That's not a small statement given the many trips and vacations our extensive group of world travelers have experienced. The boat and particularly the crew (Captain Brand and First Mate Jayde) were a perfect choice our group. From the initial booking process to just before boarding, you handled all our questions and concerns quickly and efficiently. Your service was really appreciated.
What really made the trip special was the crew. Jayde and Brand were an excellent match for our group and we had an amazing time. All the places we went and activities that were recommended were perfectly suited for us. The food was excellent and always on schedule, and our drinks never ran out. When you couple impeccable service that is efficient but friendly and not stuffy along with a shoe optional vacation with the beautiful and awe inspiring backdrop of the British Virgin Islands, you definitely have perfection!
Thank you very much for the best vacation we have ever had! We will definitely recommend the crew to others and we are already planning our return trip to the BVIs next year.
George D., Virginia
It's not often that we take the time to complete a review, but in this case, we really felt compelled to do so. The entire vacation, from start to finish, was absolutely amazing, and a huge part of that was due to the efforts of Brand and Jayde.
Their professionalism and attention to detail was unbelievable. No request of ours (and there were many !!) was too hard and they went out of their way to accommodate all our needs.
What really impressed us about them was that they took the time to get to know us and our interests, and tailored the whole experience (both on board and on shore) to respond to those interests. All the suggestions they made (including which bars to visit and sights to see) could not have been more appropriate or better suited to what we wanted to do.
It's hard to believe that both Brand and Jayde are as young as they are, because Brand's maturity and competence as a captain, and Jayde's amazing skills as a chef are far superior to what we would have expected from anyone of their age, or generally. The food prepared by Jayde was consistently excellent and far superior to anything we ate onshore, including in the fine dining restaurant at the Ritz Carlton at St Thomas where we spent the night prior to the charter.
It really was the vacation of a lifetime, and we are already recommending it to our friends and hope to repeat it ourselves. The boat was the perfect vessel for us, but it really was Brand and Jayde who made the trip so special.

We are writing from a cold and snowy Sweden. It feels a bit awkward after spending time in BVI just two weeks ago. We all have had an awesome time! The boat was a beauty, good sailing girl and lots of space for us all. But whiteout the top crew you have, our vacation wouldn't have been the best vacation in our life so far and we have traveled a lot. Be sure to treasure Brand and Jayde, they are amazing crew! Jayde's cooking is so good, no it is amazing! She is a master in the very small kitchen, serving us three delicious courses every night, Brand gave us the best painkillers in the BVI. We have some extra weight to work off now, all of us! We love sailing and had been blessed with good wind the first days, totally safe with Brand as the captain, he was, very cute and a nice personality, and most of all very good captain, dive master, snorkeling instructor and host. They were the biggest part of feeling at home. When we went ashore at some bar, we all wanted to return home to the boat as soon as possible! Dazing in the front net.. during sailing with the wind from the back..best unstressed moment ever. Best regard to you from us all and thanks for letting us enjoy your boat. Send our love to Brand and Jayde and let them know they are welcome to Sweden in summertime, (not November) We have the most amazing archipelago!

Your name came up several times during the cruise in discussions with Jayde and Brand - and we were most impressed with how you all took great care of us. You exceeded our expectations and handled everything so well. It was obvious that you really knew the business from a first-hand experience level and that really helped us from a customer perspective.
As for the cruise - in a word ... fantastic!! Despite really poor weather conditions on the front end - everyone had a terrific time and that is by in large due to the great crew you all turned us on to. Brand and Jayde are now """"family"""" and we will be keeping tabs on their goings on from here out. The group related very well to both of them and Jayde completely wow'd us with her culinary and boat-keeping talents. We did not """"sail"""" as much as we would have liked -- but this was largely due to either way too much wind or not enough. Brand worked with us to tailor our itinerary to get us to points we wanted to see (including the annual Lobster Fest on Anegada Island). The cruising guide you all sent us was invaluable in helping us to understand the various stops in the BVIs (great idea!).
The boat was in surprisingly good shape for a '94 and the only major issue encountered was the loss of the port engine on the return trek... but Brand did a great job on underway repairs. This made the connection to the return Ferry kinda close - but all worked out fine. We set up a WebEx conference call with all 9 of us about three weeks ahead of time - and everyone got a chance to ask questions of Brand and Jayde which really helped. Logistically - we all came from different points (we landed on Beef Island, others came in via RoadTown and West End) and stayed the day prior to the cruise at the ICIS Villas which was great.
We really like the fact that you knew the crew personally and that you have met with them on several occasions - they reciprocated with very strong positive comments about you as well!

I apologize for not writing sooner but we seem to be stuck in island time and we can't get motivated to do anything anymore. Well, where do I begin? First of all, I can't thank you enough for all of your help with scheduling. You were always there to answer my questions and invaluable in helping us with all arrangements. I appreciate all your behind the scenes work to make sure all of our paper work was completed and your recommendation for yacht choice and crew was spot on. This was our first time charting a yacht and we really didn't know what to expect but your experience helped us complete the trip without a hitch. Our flights and our driver who picked us at the airport were great. No problems with anything. We stayed at the Frenchman's Reef Hotel and really enjoyed the staff, rooms, food and scenery. It was a perfect place to catch up on sleep and relax from our red-eye flight from Phoenix. Our driver picked us up at the hotel the next morning and helped us gather our things and we headed to the dock to meet Brand and Jayde. From the minute we met them I knew we were in for a memorable trip. They were very friendly and courteous and treated us well from the second we stepped aboard. We set off and reviewed some safety instructions and from then on we were in paradise. The weather and scenery were magnificent. The accommodations, food, and equipment on board and of course the staff were exquisite. Brand was always on top of making sure everything was working well and anytime we had a request he was always sure we were well taken care of. We had a little problem with the dinghy but it didn't take him long to find a replacement and we were on our way without skipping a beat. He was very familiar with the islands and all of the interesting sites to see. We stayed at beautiful bays and in areas that were calm and well protected. We all love to scuba dive and he was a very knowledgeable dive master and made all of us feel comfortable in the water. He picked great dive and snorkeling sites and I must say the experience overall was spectacular. And now, Jayde. What can I say? Her abilities in the kitchen are only second to my wife and daughters. (I obviously had to say that since they will be reading this and I have to live with their cooking every day). We took pictures of every meal just so we could reminisce when we got back home. The food was just what we had hoped it might be. She was great about making dishes from our requests and I'm sure if she had made something not on our favorites we all still would have loved it. I still dream of her late afternoon happy hours and appetizers and I discovered my new favorite drink, her specialty: The Pain Killer. I can honestly say that this trip turned out to be the most relaxing and memorable family trip of my lifetime. We will be back. Well, enough of my experience. Now, I'll let my family tell of their experience.
Our recent trip through the British Virgin Islands was the most spectacular trip I have ever had and will ever have in the future. The yacht was very spacious and comfortable and the rooms were perfect. The outdoor seating on the back and front of the boat was perfect for relaxing and hanging out while sailing from one island to another and while we were anchored. The most memorable part of the trip by far was the crew. Brand and Jayde were outstanding and they are what made our trip unforgettable. They were both so friendly and personable and accommodated us with anything we needed. Brand chose a great route for us and took us out on adventures on the islands that we would not have gone on without him. He was always dedicated to making sure we had fun and was a great dive master. Jayde is by far the best cook I have ever met. She made incredible food and cocktails and the tight kitchen and rocking of the boat did not stop her from preparing them exquisitely. She also cleaned our cabins each morning and picked up after us around the boat, which made us feel so pampered. They were the most amazing people I could have ever wanted as our crew and we now miss our new friends. I had a great time on the charter and there is nothing that I would change about our experiences. Everything was so accessible to us and anything we wanted to do, Brand and Jayde made sure that it happened. The only bad thing about this trip is now I don't think I will ever be able to have a better vacation than this one.

Nothing else can be said other than we can't wait to come back.
