Denny & Pamela
Denny Carlson, US Coast Guard Captain,
I've been chartering and sailing in the Caribbean since 1986. I'm originally a farm boy from southern Wisconsin who went off to school and got a degree in Electrical Engineer and earned an MBA. I've retired from the corporate life and began chartering as an owner/operator with my lively wife and chef Pam. My father was Swedish and I guess I must have gotten my love of the water and ocean from my Dads Viking ancestors. I've been an athlete my entire life. I was a certified ski instructor at Copper Mountain, CO for several years I am currently a AAA rated Sr. Softball player. Competitive volleyball player and many more sports. I have lots of experience and want to share my boat and my experience with you. I own an awesome bIue water stable 42' Fountaine Pajot Venezia Catamaran which allows me to take you to places you probably haven't even dreamed of. I tailor your time aboard so you enjoy the things you want to do and go to the places you want to see. I know a lot of "out of the way" places and am very happy to take you to them. I enjoy guiding you through the ruins of old sugar plantations and a couple hours later guiding you on a snorkel tour on one of the many amazing reefs we can take you to. We did a total refit on Whisper 42 four years ago and Whisper 42 is an exceptionally clean and solid platform for providing your dream sailing vacation. Come join Pam and me and we'll make your stay the best possible vacation in Paradise that you'll remember and cherish for the rest of your life. ...read more
Pamela Freeman,First Mate/Chef:
As first-mate and chef my skills have come from real life everyday situations which involve being a wife, mom, granny (greatest blessing ever), and business owner. I have a degree in business, raised two very successful young men and have been a licensed realtor for 25 plus years. My years as a realtor working with people under stress gave me great people skills. My culinary skills come from a love of food and the joy of cooking and creating tasty dishes. I grew up on southern comfort food and describe my cooking as comfort food with a healthy twist. My food isn't always the "prettiest" but it sure tastes good. Entertaining and cooking for friends was an important part of my life as well as boating. The love of the ocean came from my father who passed it on to me as well as my two sons. I am pretty sure I was on a boat before I knew how to walk. Always dreamed of living on the water and that dream has come true. Family is the most important element in my life and having them come on board to enjoy this adventure is always a blessing. I have made some life long friendships on this adventure. Looking forward to making more friends and providing a vacation experience our guests will never forget.

A weeks worth of memories that will last a lifetime. We couldnt have asked for anything better for our honeymoon. The boat, the service, the food, the views, and the fun completely met and exceeded our expectations. We chose this for our honeymoon because we loved the idea of being able to see different places within the islands without having to pack up and move from hotel to hotel all while enjoying the water and sailing life for a week.
Captain Denny was extremely knowledgeable of the area and we took advantage of it! We were able to enjoy so much of what the USVI and BVI have to offer from hiking in St. Johns, swimming with turtles, having a beer and jumping off the back of Willy Ts in the Bight. Between islands, Jacques enjoyed helping to sail and learning about the area, while Katie enjoyed soaking up the sun and taking pictures of all the new destinations. Highlights included exploring and searching for gold in the caves of Norman Island, snorkeling the Wreck of the Rhone, and being mesmerized by the Baths on Virgin Gorda, or even just paddle-boarding and chasing sting rays but we still made time to enjoy one or two (or three, or ?) painkillers at Soggy Dollar, and hang out with Mr. Foxy himself in Jost Van Dyke. We could really let go and relax with Miss Pam catering to our every need. Waking up to the smell of coffee and breakfast was amazing. Her French toast is to die for! All food & drink items we requested were always on board, and magically replenished every day. While we snacked on shore, we ate all of our meals on board and everything was great. Lunches and dinners were creative and delicious, we could eat on our own schedule, and sunset dinners were picture-perfect. The boat was extremely clean, the cabins comfortable and cozy, and everything felt like home. Our two favorite places to hang out were the front nets of the boat (Katie) and in the captains chair (Jacques) Denny let him share it a few times. All in all this was a great time and we are planning our next trip! Katie & Jacques, Boston, MA, June, 2016
It was Perfect!! The Yacht was always impeccably clean and comfortable. Captain Denny and Pam showed us the Best Time of our lives!! I chose this Sailing Adventure because I wanted to experience Sailing in the Caribbean and Exploring the Islands from the water/beach side. Captain Dennys skill and expertise as an accomplished Skipper made us feel safe at all times. His extensive knowledge of the area enriched all our explorations----whether we were in the water snorkeling, or hiking on shore. Pam made sure we were fed royally!! Breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks--
all were awesome!! What made this trip so perfect was Captain Denny and Pams desire to customize it to exactly what we wanted -----in regards to sailing, exploring on shore, participating in water sports and our food!! They catered to our individual desires and wishes! We loved sailing with Captain Denny and Pam on their wonderful Yacht Whisper. It was a beautiful, peaceful and fun Sailing Adventure!! We look forward to another trip with them! Carol & Corbin, New Orleans, LA. May 2016
Captain Denny is so much more than just your captain. He would take our family on daily excursions. If we wanted to snorkel he would go with us. Partly to ensure our safety and also to show us the most amazing spots. He would dive down and pick out things to show us that maybe we wouldn't normally see otherwise. If we wanted to go inland to hike he was more than happy to take us and show us the sites. I say all this because Captain Denny has been coming to the U.S. and British Virgin Islands for over 30 years. So if anybody is qualified to show you around I believe it would be him. Having a captain that can be a personal tour guide is an extra bonus. Captain Denny is very knowledgable when it comes to the history of the islands. All of these features make a good combination for a great adventure. Everyday that was defiantly fulfilled!
Now let's talk about the sweet little Texan who can cook up a wide variety of flavor and cocktails to match. I like to call her Mrs. Pam. She truly shows her southern hospitality! My family was not only introduced to her kindness and generosity but her cooking. We are from the south but her variety of food exceeded expectations. Let me remind you we are on a catamaran on open waters. My family and I felt like we were at a 5 star restaurant. Also that was eating three meals a day. Truly an outstanding experience. Plus she is a great bartender!
My family and I could not have had a better experience. Captain Denny and Pam have set the bar high for all other family vacations. We invited them to join us for dinner the very first night and in doing so we invited them into our lives. Which was a great choice. By doing so we have found life long friends. They truly are an amazing couple. They are gracious hostesses and crew. Traveling with them was so much fun. I like to call our experience where a touch of class and hospitality meet the sea! Our trip was full of adventure and surprises. We were all sad when it was time to go home. But not without lots of memories!
They both were so amazing with our kids making sure they had just as good of a time as the adults. My kids loved that Capt. Denny snorkeled with them, fished with them and took them to a pirate show. They even got to steer the boat and help with the sails! We couldn't have asked for a better crew for us or the kids.
If you are looking for a great charter with your family, you won't be disappointed, you will have a wonderful time on the Whisper!"

Just a note to say thank you so much for the fantastic voyage! We so enjoyed every aspect of our sail on your fantastic Whisper. You made our trip so enjoyable; you two really know how to make your guests feel at home. The boat was so pristinely clean at all times (yes, Im a clean freak) and the food and drink were so good, well above what weve had on other boats. Thank you again for making everything so perfect for us and we cant wait for our next trip coming up in 2014! Have a great New Year and again, thank you so much for the wonderful treatment and the great times we had. Terri S in GA
