Captain Gui Garcia was born in Lisbon, Portugal to a family of many generations of naval officers. At the age of 16, he took his first job working on a private yacht off the Portuguese coast. In 1983, Gui traveled to the US with his parents where his Father worked in Washington DC as a naval attach?. In 1993, Gui received his first USCG captain's license, after which, his love for the ocean, yachting, and diving took him to California, Hawaii, Palau, Truk, Micronesia, and the Mediterranean where he worked as a captain on a variety of yachts. He is an instructor trainer for recreational and technical diving as well as a videographer and an accomplished underwater photographer, with his work published worldwide. Gui's interest are photography, diving, practicing Judo, swimming and hiking. He looks forward to having you onboard M/Y Sovereign.
