Sailing Yacht Nomad Iv Overview

The world renowned naval architects Finot-Conq have an enviable reputation in the sailing world. Among their previous racing builds are IMOCA 60s and the Pogo series and their latest creation is the 100ft cruiser NOMAD IV. NOMAD IV is easily adaptable and she can be both an impressive racing yacht or a comfortable cruising yacht for charter.Her mast is 47m the water and she has 9 ton water ballast tanks each side, a short cord performance lifting keel, twin rudders and full carbon construction. Inside NOMAD IV there is spacious and modern accommodation for 12 guests with four crew. The 30.48m yacht was built by the Maxi Dolphin shipyard in Italy.

Meet the Crew

CAPTAIN – Jacques Delorme – French

Sail and Work Experience:

Jacques holds over 30 years of experience in sailing and boatyard construction, working on projects both on land and navigating waters. A captain since 2009, he has travelled globally on sailing yachts, completing several transatlantic races and world circumnavigations. Maintaining a professional yet welcoming presence for guests, Jacques has consistently led crews through successful charter seasons. He is excited to return to NOMAD IV, having previously been her Captain in 2014-2015.

Job Description:

Jacques is responsible for the navigation, safety, the overall running and financial management of the vessel, crew and guests. He ensures the safe and efficient operation of the yacht at all times, including compliance with all safety procedures and regulations. He takes care of adhering to flag regulations, port, state and local laws and regulations, and manages the crew to ensure adherence to, and a full understanding of, the vessel’s policies. CHEF – Julia Robert – French

Sail and Work Experience:

With experience as a chef both at sea and on land, Julia has held many professional positions throughout her career, diversifying her tastes and culinary abilities. Beginning her yachting work in 2018, where she performed as a chef in Martinique, Julia joined the NOMAD IV team in 2019 for their world tour. Three years later, Julia remains a vital member of the crew and has sailed around Europe, successfully catering to a variety of guests and their palates.

Job Description:

Julia is responsible for all guest and crew meals, providing a wide variety of nutritional food. She plans all the meals and reviews stocks on board to ensure that adequate supplies of fresh food are always available. She manages all the food preparation in order to have meals ready at particular times, often packaging and freezing samples of all the served food in compliance with health regulations. She oversees the galley, always maintaining very high standards of cleanliness on board, with a meticulous eye for detail.

DECKHAND – Aner Jonas – New Zealander

Sail and Work Experience:

Finding a passion for sailing early on, Aner was keen to learn as much as he could about tall ships and progressed into the yachting industry. He has gained many skills, both physical and mental, through a diverse working background which includes volunteering for the New Zealand Coast Guard. Aner previously worked as a third mate on a tall ship before coming onboard NOMAD IV in 2019 where he completes second in command duties under the captain.

Job Description:

Aner has the expertise required to stand in for the captain in his absence, acting in an important role for deckhand duties. He assists the Captain during navigation and participates in all on-deck operations, respecting guests’ activities. He has extensive knowledge of the maintenance of sailing yachts and is responsible for the running of deck equipment and machinery.

Licenses and Certificates:

-STCW Qualifications in Basic Training, First Aid Level 1 and Crowd Management

-Maritime Restricted Radiotelephone Operator’s Certificate

-Skipper Restricted Limits 24m endorsement

-PADI Open Water Diver Level 2

Languages:

English and Hebrew

DECKHAND – Colin Reboux - French:

Sail and Work Experience:

Although Colin’s work and sailing experience only dates back to 2018, he has managed to create an impressive list of achievements during this period. Colin has sailed all over Europe on several different style boats and yachts, even participating in a Transatlantic Crossing and participating on the crew of racing yachts.
