Marco is a consummate adventurer; sailor, Navy diver, wilderness trip leader, white water canoeist, kite surfer, long distance cyclist, and martial artist. He has been sailing since his childhood, in the early 60's, and is now an Advanced Sailing Instructor (ASA & CYA) and Yacht Master. He comes with the experience of many offshore and coastal voyages, in the Caribbean and abroad.
Marco has also completed a military term in the Finnish Navy as Search, Rescue, and Recovery Diver, Fire Fighter, and Navigator. Beyond outdoor adventure, Marco's interests include woodwork, boat building, and furniture construction and design.
Robyn, a native of Toronto, began her career as a musician when she was a teenager. As a singer, trumpet player and educator, she has traveled Canada and the United States performing with orchestras and jazz bands of all types.
Her travels fostered a love for interesting tastes and culture that she takes to the galley. Whether you like exotic flavors or home style dishes, you will find it on Can Can.
Another passion, nurtured through university, is philosophy and literature. Robyn is an experienced writer editor, and has been an English literature and philosophy lecturer for various Canadian institutions. Good food and good conversation will never be sparse at your dinner table.
Guest Comments:
In our 4 trips to the BVIs, Marco and Robyn were the best crew by far. They were highly professional, friendly, accommodating, and even went out of their way to make it a fun adventure for our 3 year old.
Can Can was spotless and everything worked well. The taller cabin in the main salon was an improvement over other sailboats.
We enjoyed every meal. Robyn did a great job managing the balance between highly charactered foods and kid-friendly foods. There was also a large diversity of choices, as well as perfect snacks.
Sailing Directions was completely on top of it.
