Born on the Caribbean Island of Guadeloupe, Gaultier began sailing as a young boy, and raced with his father on trimarans, clinching the famed Heineken Regatta title amongst others.
He studied at the French Maritime School in Guadeloupe, where he was awarded both his 200 and 500 gross tonne license.
Gaultier has a great passion for sailing and the sea, and when not on a yacht can be found traveling the world, seeking the best surf breaks!
He is a dedicated and professional captain, ensuring you get everything you want, and more, out of your vacation. His knowledge of the Caribbean has been developed over the 30 years he has lived and sailed here, including 10 years as a Captain, and he will always seek out your own private paradise.
Gaultier speaks French, English, Spanish and Creole.
Chef / hostess Caroline quit life in the city of London and moved to the Caribbean 3 years ago. Far from the life of marketing and PR, she took up a new career in Hotel and yacht management.
Having grown up in a sailing family and with her love of cooking it was a natural step to move on to a boat. She always seeks out the best and freshest ingredients and has a true passion for food.
When not working, Caroline is found seeking out new recipes and ideas, including new ways to cook the many fish Gaultier catches!
Caroline looks forward to tempting your pallet with her sumptuous cooking, and is always able to customize a menu for any occasion or dietary preference.
Caroline speaks English and French (learning...)
Guest Comments:
We had a wonderful trip! Gaultier & Caroline were very friendly, attentive and more than accommodating.
Matira was immaculate (the most beautiful of all our trips) and they made sure to run the air as requested.
The food was beyond enjoyable, and beautifully presented, and plentiful! The itinerary was exactly as we wished and Gaultier knew all the best spots!
We were completely satisfied with Sailing Directions and are considering another trip. Thanks again!
