Doug, your Captain, is Canadian and can't get enough of the Caribbean lifestyle. He has a passion for boating and the ocean and loves to share memorable times with others.
Doug is a CYA (Canadian Yachting Association) Red Senior Sailing Instructor and Orange Racing Coach. He holds his Canadian Pleasure Craft Operator Card and Restricted Maritime Operators Certificate. Doug is one of the original founders of the Antique & Classic Boat Society, Toronto Chapter, and starting participant of the famed Georgian Bay Poker Run, both power boat venues.
Coming from a boating family that owned the first J22 and J24 in Canada, he has extensive racing experience in dinghies and keel boats. Doug has skippered in numerous events including the 2006 Caribbean 1500 starting in Hampton, Virginia and finishing in the British Virgin Islands, eleven days and nights offshore.
As a past member of the Canadian Ski Patrol, Doug has extensive rescue and First Aid training. He is an A.C.U.C. certified scuba diver and certified bartender. Whether you choose an afternoon of snorkeling, a sailing lesson or a beach expedition you will appreciate Doug's experience and enthusiasm.
Your First Mate, Wendy, is a bubbly and proud Canadian who happily "threw it all away" to enjoy the laid back charm of the Caribbean sailing aboard "Mustang Sally".
Wendy is ACUC dive certified, has her Canadian Pleasure Craft Operator Card, Restricted Maritime Operators Certificate, Canadian Power and Sail Squadron. She is also a certified bartender and an avid exercise enthusiast who is more than happy to lead the charge up an island trail to experience breathtaking views! Don't forget to bring your camera!
Wendy has sailed on numerous passages involving many days and nights ocean sailing offshore and "island hopping" throughout the Caribbean as well as sailing the Eastern Seaboard with Captain Doug.
As your hostess on board, Wendy, will ensure a fabulous experience, whether leading the "conga line" or making your favorite "Sundowner" cocktail.
Creating fun, flavorful and casually elegant meals in a relaxed setting contribute to your dream vacation. Special dietary and personal preferences can be arranged.
Additional Useless Crew Members, Willis and Rollie:
Two fun, furry and happy additions are Willis and Rollie. Shi-tzu / Pomeranian dogs who are small, fluffy and quiet, love to cuddle and add to the warmth on Mustang Sally by providing many cute and funny antics. Both Willis and Rollie are non allergenic.
