Shaitan of Tortola was designed by the famous naval architect Ron Holland. He drew the lines of a strong, yet elegant hull with enough freeboard for dry sailing. Driven by a powerful ketch rig, Shaitan is fast with racing capabilities and is, at the same time, a very comfortable offshore cruising vessel with an abundance of living space.

Shaitan was challenged in many races and two circumnavigations, in which she fulfilled all the expectations of her owners. As a charter yacht she offers four equally roomy queen size cabins with ensuite bathrooms, a large galley and a spacious salon - all with natural, cool ventilation, full air conditioning and other creature comforts.

On deck there is plenty of open space and the extremely livable cockpit area makes her stand out from her competition.

Shaitan of Tortola is extremely well layed out for chartering. The volume of her cabins is unsurpassed by any competitor of her length. With the option of having two additional upper bunks available and the possibility of changing two cabins into one suite a wide variety of cabin arrangements is possible; either for family or couple type charters. With her large galley and ample of storage space Shaitan is the perfect yacht for nearly every charter party.

Shaitan of Tortola is a lot of fun to sail on. She is very responsive on the helm. Experience it yourself. Be the helmsman of the day or of an hour. Improve your sailing skills, burn some calories on the coffee grinders or just lay on deck, soak up some Caribbean sun and watch the islands go by. Do as much or as little as you like. Shaitan of Tortola is owned and operated by Henry Metz and Iris Mosing. They left their home country Germany and sailed to the Caribbean, where they spent the last twenty years working and living on boats.

Henry is in his late forties and has been sailing all his life. He is looking back at sixteen years of Charter Experience, building up from a smaller yacht. He served as a navigator in the Navy and went on to several Atlantic Crossings. Henry worked as a sailing instructor and as a dive master knows the best dive spots all over the Eastern Caribbean.

Beside water sports Henry likes to experience nature and foreign culture in all its variety. Being an engineer by trade he loves to build and create - all evident in most of the custom refitting done on Shaitan by Henry himself.

Iris is in her early forties and has crossed the Atlantic together with Henry on a 29' sloop coming to the Caribbean. She is a licensed captain, a retired dive instructor and a four time winner of the Grand Marnier Cooking Competition. Having grown up around their parents' nursery she loves flora and fauna.

There always will be a third crewmember on the yacht to help with the sailing, keeping everything shipshape on deck and the cabins in order.

Henry and Iris are one of the most experienced charter crews in the Eastern Caribbean. They know what is necessary, of interest, of good taste, of good time for their guests to have an excellent vacation.
