As a native of the Gulf Coast area, Captain Stephen Ray began his education in boating at an early age, enjoying sailing and fishing on a variety of boats. Deciding to pursue a career on the water, Stephen earned his 100 Ton Master Captains license in 2004. After delivering several yachts to the Caribbean, Stephen fell in love with the islands and made the decision to become a full time charter yacht Captain.

Stephen enjoys racing and cruising aboard his own 30ft sailboat in his spare time, and loves to teach others to sail whenever he has an opportunity. Stephen also enjoys diving, and has a Rescue Diver certification.

Having completed over one hundred successful term charters, and many off shore deliveries, Stephen is highly professional and dedicated to his career as a Captain. Stephen knows the Virgin Islands inside and out. Exploring the must see spots, or places off the beaten path, Stephen is in his element when sharing his knowledge of the islands with Safari's guests!

Erin Scott was born in Texas, but has spent most of her life living in the Virgin Islands. Before Erin started to work on boats, she spent ten years in the restaurant business. Taking a weekend job on a small day sailboat convinced Erin to become a charter yacht chef. In addition to her culinary skills, Erin also holds a Master Captains License. On her days off, Erin likes to take to the water, having explored much of St John and neighboring cays, as well as the BVI, snorkeling, scuba diving, sailing and hiking.

In her 5 years of charter experience, Chef Erin has become an expert at creating gourmet meals with a Caribbean flair. Each unique charter menu is custom designed by Erin, based on our guest's preferences, and local availability. Meticulously prepared and presented, guests will be delighted by the variety of flavorful meals that Erin produces in Safari's galley.

I wanted to say what a great time we had. Safari was a really fabulous boat - stylish, immaculate and very well laid out and equipped. And Stephen and Erin are a wonderful crew - highly competent and very attentive and hospitable but at the same time laid back and not intrusive. We felt in very safe hands with Stephen, and Erin is a really excellent cook. We have become converts to crewed catamarans and suspect this experience will be hard to beat.
