 Matau Yacht Overview:

The Privilege shipyard in France has just finished its third Privilege 745. This is the largest catamaran built by Privilege. The architect Marc Lombard said he designed a very stable boat that could satisfy both sail and power yacht fans. She can average 15 knots sailing and 12 knots motoring.

Step into Matau's salon whose stunning décor has more than a dash of art deco style with pale wood, white leather upholstery and sophisticated black and red accents. The perfect setting for cosmopolitans and martinis with Noel Coward songs playing in the background.

The interior was designed by Dierdre Design a multi-awarded Design company. There is ample room inside, with an impressive Master suite with its own full-size jacuzzi tub. Matau has accommodation for eight in one king and three queen en suite, air-conditioned cabins. All guests' state rooms have true walk-around berths.

There are so many choices on deck - the trampolines, aft deck, bridge deck, the teak beach, and broad steps aft (for easy water access) - that everyone will find their own favorite spot for sunning and relaxing.

Matau is the ultimate crewed catamaran for luxury, space and 5 star service.

About the crew aboard Yacht Matau
Your Crew:   Virginia, Jamie, Robin & Alice
Description:

Captain: Virginia A. Wagner
As a private, commercial and charter yacht captain for over 20 years, Virginia has logged over 397,000 nautical miles of ocean sailing and brings a wealth of experience to Matau.

With a previous background in the hospitality industry, her attention to detail brings a strong sense of dedication and commitment to the yachting industry, which is reflected in the level of service provided to owners and guests. Virginia has a warmhearted style and takes great pride and enjoyment in her profession.

Engineer: Jamie Stark
A native of the USVI, Jamie holds two Masters Licenses in mechanical trades. Among his other talents, Jamie became a US National ranked competitive swimmer and natural free-diver with a deep appreciation for the aquatic world. Jamie is also an accomplished equestrian with formal training in dressage.

Having been born on a yacht and living his entire life on and near the ocean, it was easy for him to make the career change to the Yachting Industry in 1997. His abilities and flair extend far beyond the engine room, where he is able to ensure guests needs, comforts and the true enjoyment of the surrounding waters.

Jamie combines his charismatic charm, his passion for sail and his old world style of professional work ethics. All these promise an opportunity to experience a thrilling adventure in high style.

Chef: Robin Thompson
Irish born Robin attended School in Ireland before heading to England to study Computing at Coventry University. From there he followed in the family tradition of working on yachts. Indeed both of his uncles, his brother and sister have worked on yachts. Robin joined his sister and brother in law and sailed from Boston to the British Virgin Islands. Robin soon found work aboard a Trimaran and it didn't take long before Robin's passion for cooking was reignited. Robin was Chef on that Yacht for 3 years and was serving some 27 people daily

After that Robin joined the catamaran True North and spent a year exploring further around the Caribbean experimenting with local Caribbean produce and widening his creative palette.

After True North Robin returned home to Ireland for a year to go back to school to gain his chef's qualification. While at home Robin also worked at one of the country's leading catering firms where he was regularly involved in cooking for large corporate events, and even Prince Charles.

Robin is looking forward to putting his new skills to work to leave our guests truly sated with his innovative and stylish cuisine. Robin takes pride in delivering flavorful and artistic dishes that will leave your eyes wide and your taste buds tingling.

Stewardess: Alice Morby
Alice grew up on a farm in southern England. Her family owned horses and Alice is an accomplished Equestrian. She graduated with a degree in Leisure and Tourism.

It's always Alice's pleasure to make the guests happy and at ease. She has a great love for what she does and will go the extra mile to ensure all the guests will have a magnificent time on Matau, leaving them with the best memories.
