 Matau Yacht Overview:

The Privilege shipyard in France has just finished its third Privilege 745. This is the largest catamaran built by Privilege. The architect Marc Lombard said he designed a very stable boat that could satisfy both sail and power yacht fans. She can average 15 knots sailing and 12 knots motoring.

Step into Matau's salon whose stunning décor has more than a dash of art deco style with pale wood, white leather upholstery and sophisticated black and red accents. The perfect setting for cosmopolitans and martinis with Noel Coward songs playing in the background.

The interior was designed by Dierdre Design a multi-awarded Design company. There is ample room inside, with an impressive Master suite with its own full-size jacuzzi tub. Matau has accommodation for eight in one king and three queen en suite, air-conditioned cabins. All guests' state rooms have true walk-around berths.

There are so many choices on deck - the trampolines, aft deck, bridge deck, the teak beach, and broad steps aft (for easy water access) - that everyone will find their own favorite spot for sunning and relaxing.

Matau is the ultimate crewed catamaran for luxury, space and 5 star service.

About the crew aboard Yacht Matau
Your Crew:   Captain Drew & Chef Robin (4 crew total)
 Description:

Captain Drew Meyers
Drew's contagious enthusiasm and intimate knowledge of the Caribbean islands help create a one-of-a-kind charter experience.

Growing up in New England Drew was always around the water however it was not until college that he discovered the world of yachting. He took a year off University and sailed with three friends from Cape Cod to St Maarten. It was during this adventure Drew discovered his passion for the ocean and decided to turn it into a career. After finishing his degree in Business Finance Drew returned to the water and has remained on yachts ever since.

Drew holds a Master of Yachts 200 Ton license and carries a 3000 ton Officer of the Watch license. With over 30,000 nautical miles behind him, Drew is constantly trying to challenge himself and has recently completed a 1500 NM trip using celestial navigation! Drew is an avid underwater explorer and is PADI rescue diver certified. Drew's skills are not limited to water and wind. Ask him for his famous chocolate fudge sauce and find out!

Chef Robin Thompson
Irish born Robin has had a passion for cooking since he was a boy. His Grandmother would encourage him to make all manner of interesting and wonderful dishes. Thankfully, over the years, his skills and passion for cooking has improved.

Robin attended school in Ireland before heading to England to study Computing at Coventry University. From there he followed in the family tradition of working on yachts. Indeed two of his uncles, his brother and sister have worked as professional crew. Robin joined his sister and brother-in-law and sailed from Boston to the British Virgin Islands. There he soon found a chef position aboard a trimaran for nearly 2 years and an additional year aboard a luxury charter catamaran sailing thoughout the Caribbean, widening his creative palette.

Robin returned home to Ireland for a year to go back to school to gain his chef's qualification. While at home he also worked at one of the country's leading catering firms where he was regularly involved in cooking for large corporate events and even Prince Charles.

Now back on Matau Robin is ready to tantalize guests with interesting and innovative foods as well as throwing his own twist on some classic dishes. Enjoy!

Matau's crew of four is rounded out with a Mate and Hostess.
