Captain Mark grew up in a small village in Leicestershire, England, before moving to the US over 20 years ago. When Mark first moved to the US he lived in Santa Cruz, California where he learned to sail & would go fishing for salmon and halibut in the Monterey Bay. Later he moved to Florida where his passion for being on the water & sailing lead him to become a sailing instructor. He discovered the Virgin Islands around 15 years ago and since that first visit always dreamed of living the island lifestyle. Finally in 2015 he made that dream a reality. He is really excited to share his passion for sailing and the island way of life with guests aboard Devine Sailing.
Mark is a U.S. Coast Guard Captain, RYA/MCA Yachtmaster Offshore, open water certified scuba diver, and a U.S. Certified Sailing Instructor. He enjoys traveling to new places and meeting people, making new friends along the way. He enjoys being on the water more than being on land, so it's no surprise that his favorite sports other than sailing are wake boarding, scuba diving, surfing and kiteboarding. On land he also enjoys watching his favorite football team Leicester City.
Mark's sailing experience includes sailing the Atlantic, Pacific, Caribbean, and the Mediterranean. His favorite sailing grounds however are right here in the Virgin Islands. His local knowledge of hidden places and local hot spots enables him to take his guests to the best places throughout the islands. ..read more
Originally from Massachusetts, Adriane grew up on and always near the ocean. It's no small wonder that she has made a career working onboard! Adriane began working as a mate on sailboats, then a charter chef and that (along with her natural wanderlust) has taken her all over the world. She has worked as a chef on mega yachts, raceboats and delivery yachts from the Caribbean to the Mediterranean. When she travels, Adriane takes time to explore the different cultures she encounters and enrolls in culinary classes to learn the local cuisines. As a result, her menu reflects a variety of tastes from around the world.

A sailor, diver, and photographer, Adriane always has a good story and is an easy-going presence on board. She has made the US Virgin Islands her winter base for the past 5 years and is consequently an excellent guide and reference for the best places to see or do just about anything in the Islands! Adriane has been a a favorite "go-to" freelance chef for many charter companies based here for the past 3 years, and she enjoyed that freedom and flexibility as well as the success. But the opportunity to work aboard the beautiful catamaran Devine Sailing with Captain Mark proved to be an irresistible opportunity. Adriane is excited to be the official chef on board Devine Sailing!
Together, Captain Mark and Adriane offer an unparalleled vacation experience aboard Devine Sailing - great days of sailing and exploring the BVI with delicious cuisine served with a smile - it really doesn't get any more Devine than that!

From the first time we communicated many months ago, all the way through the end of the charter everything was absolutely AAA service. You have a great team and a very beautiful boat! Mark and Adrianne put in early mornings and late nights to ensure our every request was granted. The little touches throughout the days were noticed and appreciated!
Cannot wait to book the team again. Great job and thank you!!

Mark is a top notch Captain. A few of the guys were a little apprehensive due to limited boating and open water experiences. Marks confidence and obvious abilities and seamanship really took care of any issues. He is both professional and personable which i would say is a requirement when living in tight quarters. He was also very accommodating to our requests. He took us and put us right where we wanted to be every single day! Kudos for his patience which I contribute to his time on the islands. His knowledge of the islands, his willingness to teach and show us things about sailing and his general calm demeanor are great attributes. I know we challenged him and he responded in flying colors!
Adriane well, what can I say, she beat any expectations we had for sure! She is not a cook, she is a chef based on both the quality of the food and also the variety and presentation. We had some general ideas and requests and she took off with them. She kept us guessing but it was in a good way. We were waiting to see what she would come up with next! She was even agile enough to switch gears and make us a great sushi meal of a catch we made while trolling over to St. Barths! The most interesting thing about her was the fact that you can see the wheels always spinning when she approaches food and the meals she creates. From the fresh made breads, to the sushi, to the oxtail reduction over filets, to her education about some of the things we asked for including the fungi, to the local unique fruits she brought from her nieghbor's garden. Oh, not to mention her patience as well. We are not an easy bunch at times given such diverse backgrounds and lifestyles.
They were both fun to be around and professional at the same time, which are not necessarily assumed. The boat atmosphere was not stuffy at all. They really made the trip everything we expected and more! ~The Robinette Party
