Catamaran Elysium Overview

Elysium is a 2010 62ft Privilege catamaran that has been meticulously cared for. She is unique among the 62ft Privileges because she has three king cabins, which means that she offers more space per person. Each cabin has a king size bed, flat screen, love seat, and hydro massaging showers that are separate from the heads. The owner's cabin is even more luxurious with dual levels, desk space and a full closet.

The yacht can also accommodate a 7th guest in the forward v-berth. The v-berth is a very basic accommodation with a twin bed and wet head.

The exterior is just as luxurious as the interior with a shaded lounge on the flybridge and cushions around the trampolines.

Elysium is equipped with diving gear, tanks, and an on-board air compressor. Dive certified charter guest can enjoy up to 5 dives per week at no additional cost. The yacht also offers all of the popular water sports including kayaking, paddle boarding, snorkeling, and fishing. The 70hp tender is perfect for towing sports like wake boarding, knee boarding, and tubing.

Another aspect that makes Elysium stand out is the crew’s dedication to using local organic produce. They receive two boxes of organic produce each week from the Ridge to Reef Farm in St Croix, making Elysium a forerunner in the farm-to-table movement. In addition, they buy local fish and organic dairy whenever possible.

Why you should book Elysium!

Three king-size en-suite guest cabins makes the yacht ideal for three couples. Elysium is a beautiful yacht throughout.

Captain

Born and raised on the western cape of South Africa, Theunis started sailing with his father at a young age and immediately fell in love with the ocean. The son of a Navy man, his childhood weekends were filled with regattas, fishing tournaments and fixing up their family boat. He set sail when he was just 18 and has since gained experience on many different vessels from motor yachts, sailing yachts, racing yachts and even tall ships. He's sailed all around the world from his birthplace in South Africa, the sensational Seychelles to the cold shores of Canada, the sunny Caribbean, tropical Thailand and the mythical Mediterranean islands.

Growing up on the ocean, naturally Theunis developed a passion for all types of water sports. As a watersports coordinator and certified PADI Dive Master/Instructor Theunis leads his guests through endless aquatic adventures with patience and unparalleled ease. Theunis prides himself on offering an unforgettable oceanic experience. He strives to educate and foster a deeper ocean connection specifically tailored to each and every guest.

Reviews for Elysium with Theunis & Rebecca:

Rebecca and Theunis were wonderful! We can’t say enough about how well they took care of us. I’m sure it’s a little more challenging when there are only two guests to strike the right balance between attentiveness and alone time, but they were spot on. We never felt smothered or ignored. While the Elysium is equipped with all the toys one could ask for and both T and Rebecca are active outdoor types, we really just wanted to relax and enjoy the beautiful scenery and tranquility of the trip. Never did we feel pressured to don the scuba gear or rush off to another excursion. They instinctively sensed just the right amount of pace we were looking for.

Every stop was great and we never stayed anywhere longer or shorter than we would have liked.

The master suite was extremely comfortable and we didn’t have to adjust our sleep to a smaller bed than we have at home. The flybridge offered great views throughout the trip.

The food was incredible. Rebecca prepared a variety of outstanding dishes that we want the recipes for! The timing of the meals was always perfect – we never felt rushed or like we were starving. Rebecca and T quickly adjusted the quantity of food (smaller portions) to our liking and once I told them how much I love bacon with breakfast I never went without.

Loved it all
We enjoyed every minute of this perfect week (you might not get us off this boat). The entire experience exceeded our expectations - from the sandy beaches, delicious and beautifully presented food, yummy cocktails ad good company. Loved it all! Hope to see you again on our next excursion. Wishing you fair winds!

March 2017
We had a fabulous time! A vacation where you can truly get away and have all of your needs met.
Captain T and Chef Rebecca were great. T is extremely knowledgeable, and we felt very comfortable with him at the helm. His love for sailing and living on the water is truly contagious. Rebecca is a fabulous chef, and we enjoyed each and every meal. She has a real knack for making beautiful, enticing presentations! They work well as a team.

The yacht was fabulous, again, exceeding out expectations. Cabins were very comfortable, boat was clean and well maintained, and there was plenty of shade if desired.
New Years 2016/17
Hi T & Rebecca,

All arrived home safe and sound.

We had a wonderful trip and I smile everytime I think of the kids being pulled around the bay, the play on my behalf and one beautiful beach after another. You went above and beyond to meet our needs and we are very appreciative. Hopefully we will be back in the not too distant future.

Thank you for reminding me about the Lazy Bear. We leave for San Francisco and will check it out.
Best

December 2016
Rebecca,

We are in fact back home, sadly. Sorry for the late reply, but we celebrated Christmas, then headed to Arizona for the OSU/Clemson game. Running, running, running. The trip was truly the best vacation we have EVER had as a family. We are in the process of choosing the 2017 vacation and its almost impossible, nothing seems to sounds as good. I hope your Christmas charter was fun, and they didn't ask you for the windex and paper towels like Jole.

Let us know what the future plans are for the boat. We haven't booked anything yet, we talked about sailing again, but we have to go in August. Enjoy those short, but probably much needed turnarounds....Happy New Year!!!!

Reviews for Elysium with previous crew:

The crew were fantastic! David was very convivial and full of energy and Thryn was a great hostess and wonderful chef.

Elysium is beautiful and well-maintained. Very comfy beds. We loved that she was so well laid out. It never felt like we were in each other’s way onboard.

Food was unbelievably wonderful. Definitely customized, as we like spicy ethnic dishes and Thryn did quite a few of those for us!

We’d love to sail with David and Thryn again sometime in the future. l would definitely recommend Sailing Directions.
