Jacek & Maya
Meet the Crew
US sailing instructor, avid diver and water sport enthusiast Captain Jacek grew up sailing since age eight where he attended St. Petersburg Sailing Center in Florida racing Optimists. In high school, he went on to race Lasers and continued racing for Florida Atlantic University where he placed top 3 in several collegiate racing regattas.
Jacek continued to find his passion on the water and began working in the marine industry; becoming a captain piloting charters from New England to the Virgin Islands. Using his intimate knowledge of the Virgin Islands and local hot spots Jacek delivers a marvelously guided sailing experience.
First Mate/Chef MayaMaya's love for water and food comes from her background growing up in the Mediterranean. After living in beautiful (but landlocked) Utah for 14 years, she finally decided to go back to her aquatic roots.
Pursuing her dream, she moved to the USVI in 2015, and spent the winter working in the service industry and on different day sailing charters. Her passions are cooking, singing, and playing the guitar. Maya believes that there is nothing better than gathering friends over plates of great food and seeing their smiles and enjoyment as they eat, talk and relax around the table. Maya looks forward to sharing her culinary passion with you, and making your experience on LoveBoat unforgettable!
Together Jacek and Maya deliver a fun, relaxing, and adventurous experience. Sit back, relax, and enjoy an adventure of a lifetime!

Jacek & Maya were one of the highlights of our charter vacation. Extremely friendly, knowledgeable and attentive.
The Loveboat was comfortable. It was clean and well ventilated. The yacht had several water toys and other entertainment equipment all in good and working order which made the boat fun.
The food was very enjoyable and well presented. With options for adults and kids as requested.
Different areas with different experiences made getting to know the USVI and BVI interesting and enjoyable.

Jacek and Maya were wonderful. They worked so hard to keep us entertained, comfortable, explaining any aspect of the boat and the surrounding areas. They were knowledgeable of the islands, their history, fun facts, wild life and of course of sailing.
I never expected them to help with our kids, 7 and 9. They were like Auntie and Uncle by the end of our trip. They both interacted with my kids like they were family. They introduced us to playing Farkel, a dice game. We played almost every night and had a blast.
Every destination, Jacek made sure we were comfortable ashore. If it was an area that he felt there was a tour involved, he would accompany us to show us around while Maya stayed onboard cleaning and getting our next meal prepared. Every time we came back onboard the boat was spotless! We shared stories and really got to know each other. I can't image having a different crew with us for a week. We really enjoyed Maya and Jacek's company!
Maya really got a good feel for how my kids ate and what we liked. Every day it was something new at every meal. Every meal was very delicious, healthy and plenty for us. She went out of her way to have a variety and accommodate my daughter's gluten free diet.

This trip has been one of the best trips ever!
Sam and Rose are THE BEST crew one could ask for! So professional, dedicated, nice friendly persons, and so helpful, always helping others and making sure everyone was having fun. I would definitely go on another charter with them!
The boat was in great shape and very comfortable. The outdoor areas, especially the front area with the reggae music were like paradise the first day! And a great place to be while sailing.
The food was delicious, very nicely presented and according to what we had asked. Before the trip, Rose sent me an email with the menu she had prepared based on our preference sheet, which was excellent and I only asked to change a couple of things! We took pictures of the plates!
I would definitely recommend Sailing Directions to our friends.

Sam & Rosemary were excellent! The boat was perfect. We particularly liked the 8 person float and spent quite a bit of time enjoying it!
The food was excellent. Rosemary definitely customized the menu to suit us and it was perfect.
The itinerary was excellent and we don't feel like we missed anything.
Very happy with Sailing Directions' service. We can't wait to come back next year.

Loveboat was comfortable, we felt at home. Linda is a very good cook and also Josh with his fantastic BBQ ribs. The meals were very tasty and well presented.
Captain Josh took us to wonderful places that we will never forget in our lives and he also taught us to sail, he is a very good teacher.
We had a great time and we will never forget of this trip, Josh and Linda and obviously the catamaran Loveboat that allowed us to have this fantastic sailing trip.
