MARAE, pronounced 'Mar-eye' 108' Pilothouse Sloop, "Best Sailing Yacht", International Superyacht Design Award, 2004 The name Marae has origins from the native Maori tribe in New Zealand meaning a special meeting place for family and friends. With Marae's New Zealand construction by Alloy Yachts, the name is a natural fit. This elegant yacht must be seen to fully appreciate her but in the interim the following description must suffice. On deck Marae has a private aft cockpit with collapsible spray hood and direct access to the master stateroom. This cockpit area is equipped with large cushions for lounging. A fold out stern section provides comfortable steps and a sturdy swim platform. Moving forward are the port and starboard steering stations, followed by a covered center cockpit with U-shaped sofas to port and starboard and hi-lo table for dinner or cocktails. These areas can be converted to lounging pads. Side windows slide open and a removable aft Isenglass curtain protects against the elements. A protected helm station is located to starboard. Captive winches keep the teak decks free of clutter. The interior woodwork on MARAE consists of stained walnut and is complemented by luxurious fabrics and crisp white linens, down duvets and down pillows in the staterooms. The upper saloon has a full wet bar with stools and a leather U-shaped sofa with coffee table that converts into a comfortable lounging area with panoramic views. Main saloon with comfortable sofas, coffee table and dining table seating six is located below, galley and crew areas are forward of the saloon and guest accommodations aft of the saloon. The master stateroom is full width aft with private access to the aft deck. Centerline queen size bed, office and en suite bath room. Roomy stall shower with built in seat. Private staircase from the master stateroom to the aft cockpit. Double guest cabin with en suite bath room, stall shower and built in shower seat. Twin guest cabin with Pullman berth and en suite bath room and stall shower.
Go to Friendly MARAE Website: WWW.SYMARAE.COM

Your hostess, Lizzie, has just the right attitude and sense of humour to be able to keep your guests happy. My wife and guests loved her!
Altogether your crew make Marae excel as the Super Yacht that she is and I would not hesitate to heartily recommend Marae as the first choice they should make when contemplating a charter of this class.
Thank you for sharing your dream with me. I consider it a privilege to have been allowed to enjoy your beautiful yacht.
Very best regards,
I just wanted to take a minute to state my appreciation for you and your crew. You all made what was a great reunion of friends, a great trip of fun and learning. What a wonderful group of people commanding an unbelievable vessel!
I thoroughly enjoyed learning more about sailing and all of the systems and challenges from you and Dylan. Sues cooking and wonderful smile (no I am not flirting with your wife) was so exceptional and engaging. Randy mentioned he cannot get is wife to announce dinner like Sue did. Unrealistic expectations on Randys part? Dylans depth of understanding of the many systems required to keep all things smooth and efficient is unbelievable! I hope to get to learn more from him in future trips (if I am so lucky). Kendalls service was great and it was fun to see her loosen up and get more comfortable and show more of her personality as the weekend went on. I think all four of us saw a bit of our daughters in Kendall. Please pass my appreciation on to all!
Lastly, Frank the amount of knowledge you have at your command related to the ship (systems, tactics, management, etc.) and the world in general is fantastic! I thoroughly enjoyed our conversations on all manner of subjects. Thank you again for making a great reunion even better!
With admiration and appreciation,

Your kindness and warm hospitality, along with Marae's stately beauty made for a week we will long cherish. To Captain Richard and the crew we extend deepest thanks for the first-rate treatment we received. Amanda's meals were legendary, Dylan's limericks delightful, and Leeann's attention to detail perfection. Reentry to real life on land will be difficult after such pampering.
We know a fine yacht called Marae
Whose soaring mast touches the sky
Her sails catch the breeze
As she cuts through the seas
And her beauty will just make you sigh
With deep appreciation,
Joe and Tracy
