Jonathan & Kaitlyn Bellemare
Jon grew up in Hollis, New Hampshire. He developed a love for the ocean at an early age and truly enjoyed sailing along the coast of New England with his family. After graduation, he attended New England Maritime and was accredited with his USCG 100 ton Masters, and became Scuba certified.
Some of his earliest nautical working experiences were on boats in the Caribbean islands and the greater Boston Harbor areas. For 7 years he ran his own yacht management business, performing deliveries and dive services to numerous private yacht owners and running a crewed charter catamaran with his wife, Kaitlyn. Jon is very pleased to be a full-time charter captain in the Caribbean once again!
Kaitlyn grew up in Kennebunkport, Maine where she and her family spent most of their summers sailing along the coast of Maine. Following her high school graduation, she went on to college at the University of Mary Washington, located in Fredericksburg, VA. There, she played lacrosse all four years and was named an all-American in her junior and senior years. After graduating she moved on to Denver, Colorado where she spent the next six years working in high end restaurants and as a nanny for several families.
In the spring of 2013, she decided to move back to Maine where she would go on to meet the man of her dreams! Kait has been Captain Jon's 1st mate and Chef aboard many of his deliveries as well as private crewed charters in the Caribbean.
Both Jon and Kait are thrilled they get to work together full-time in the Caribbean. They can't wait for the many fun adventures they will share with you aboard Split Second.

Ryan, Veronika and Justin were a great team and couldn't do more for us.
Split Second was spotlessly clean. The fly bridge was definitely the favorite aspect, although the younger members of our party loved the seats on the bow.
Veronika's culinary skills were excellent and the food was always well presented. She customized the menu according to our individual tastes and we always left her with clean plates!
The itinerary was perfect for our family - from deserted beaches to lively bars.
Sailing Directions helped make our vacation one we will never forget.
