Meet the Crew

Ryan & Dani Querry

Growing up in the countryside of Ohio, Ryan was introduced to the great outdoors from the very start. Whether he was playing football or baseball, boating on the many nearby lakes, or taking family fishing trips to the lakes of Canada, he could be found enjoying what nature had to offer. While he always knew that he loved the outdoors, it wasn’t until he moved to the Caribbean in 2012 that he found his true passion of being on and in the sea. Upon moving to St. Thomas, Ryan immediately began his journey into sailing and diving. He now holds a 50 ton captains license with a sailing endorsement and is also a certified Dive Master with extensive knowledge of the area’s best dive sites. Ryan loves to share his knowledge of the Virgin Islands and create a memorable experience for all!

Dani has an adventurous spirit that is bound to rub off on those that she comes in contact with. Also growing up in Ohio, she spent her time being very active whether it was playing softball, golfing, fishing or, most of all, being in or near the water. Her first trip to the Virgin Islands at age 17 made her realize that one day she would trade the ponds, lakes, and chlorine for the open ocean. She made that trade in 2012 and has been immersing herself in the Caribbean culture ever since. Her favorite way to spend time is showing her island home to others, allowing them to experience the wonders that it can offer. She has adapted her “comfort food” upbringing to allow her guests to experience not only the beauty of the island but to taste it too!..read more

Ryan and Dani were married in 2012 and immediately set their sights on an adventure. While Dani was familiar with the Virgin Islands, their honeymoon was Ryan’s first visit. It was love at first sight and 4 months after they were married, they were living in the Caribbean, fulfilling their dreams of adventure and sunshine. Their passion for people and love of the water creates both an adventurous and a welcoming environment that is felt by all. After 8 years together their teamwork is impeccable both on the deck and in the galley. Experimenting and providing not just a meal, but an experience, is something that they truly take pride in. Your taste buds are sure to be pleased and your memories to last a lifetime!

Reviews for Stop Work Order with previous crew:

Everything was ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE! We loved every minute of it! Cliff and Christian were perfect. The food was all healthy and delicious and she managed to satisfy even my very picky kids. Cliff was basically a camp counselor with the kids, taking them tubing umpteen times or even just for dinghy rides.

Stop Work Order was beautiful, clean, comfortable, and had so much room for everyone! The yacht had everything each one of us needed. AC (with individual thermostat controls in each room) was cold and on all the time. It also has a great water maker so everyone was able to take long, hot showers whenever we wanted.

It was perfect! I would recommend the boat, the crew and the itinerary to anyone, without hesitation. Just wanted to let you know that I have said it was the best vacation ever!<

Beth S, aboard Catamaran Stop Work Order sailing the Virgin Islands

Cliff & Christian were both wonderful! They were both super friendly and always accommodating to whatever it is any of us wanted or wanted to do. We can't imagine what it will be like to do another charter without them!

Cliff had nonstop energy and fun for all of the kids all of the time. Taking them tubing to their hearts content or just on dinghy rides if that's what they rather do. He even played War and Go Fish with the boys one night! He was happy the entire time to show us every bit of the BVI and whatever we wanted to see.

Christian's food was great and she was able to please not only the adults with our meals, but also four very picky kids! Everything was fresh, healthy and delicious! She even surprised my husband and I with a bottle of champagne packed in a backpack one afternoon when we went off to enjoy just sitting on a deserted beach while the kids were tubing.

Stop Work Order was perfect!! Clean, clean, clean, spacious and super comfortable. There was plenty of room for everyone without ever feeling like we were on top of each other. The air conditioning was cold, the beds were comfortable, the sheets were nice and all of the outdoor areas were wonderful. We loved the cockpit in the back and the flybridge on top! The girls ended up claiming The front seating area near the trampolines as their favorite spot on the boat. The blue underwater lights at night were great for Tarpon feeding.

Everything was great and seamlessly planned with Sailing Directions. The easiest vacation I have ever planned.

We all agreed this was the best vacation and can't wait to do it again!

Reviews for Ryan & Dani Querry aboard previous yachts:

Thanks so much for everything - the trip was incredible and perfect for everyone. We all had an amazing experience. I cried several times when leaving - such a beautiful time. Thank you for your guidance.

Ryan and Dani were very helpful, willing to please and encouraging. Both were knowledgeable and loved sharing their experiences and knowledge.

Frangines was perfect in every way. I loved the font bean bags - I loved the hatch in our room that we left open every night to see the stars. I loved the ease and warmth of the shower. It was better than expected.

The food was perfect in every way as well. I took pictures and have asked for menus - Dani is an excellent cook that takes a lot of pride in her creations.

We enjoyed our itinerary - Ryan is exemplary. They created an itinerary for us and were pleased to execute it- even if it meant extra traveling. You can tell they love what they do and love the water.

Sailing Directions' service was great! Well directed, well versed, everything is right on time and informative.

It was magical for us all.

Kimberly G, aboard Catamaran Frangines sailing the Virgin Islands

Thank you for the trip of a lifetime aboard Frangines. Everything was perfect. The food that Dani prepared was fantastic and the dives that Ryan took the group on were excellent. The dive on the RMS Rhone was the best dive I have ever been on. You made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived and I couldn’t be happier that we chose to charter with you guys. All the best to you both and hope to meet up with you in the future.

Jason G, aboard Catamaran Frangines sailing the British Virgin Islands

It will be hard to accurately put into words, the incredible performance of both Ryan and Dani on our trip. I know I speak for everyone when I say that every aspect of the trip was a success because of them. Between Ryan's calm and professional demeanor as captain and Dani's outstanding work as chef and fist mate, we all had the best time on this vacation. Every member of our party would be happy to give glowing recommendations to this crew.

This is no exaggeration when I say, anyone looking to charter a crew in the BVI would be hard pressed to find a better crew than Ryan and Dani Querry. No one in our entire party would even have the smallest complaint about the way they took care of us. 5 stars on every level.

The boat itself was clean and well maintained.

The food far exceeded all of our expectations. Besides tasting incredible, Dani's presentations resembled eating at a five star restaurant each day. All of us begged for her recipes and plan on cooking them at home. Dani's cooking was the highlight of the trip. Every day she surprised us with her meals and appetizers.

Our pre-planning and preparation with Sailing Directions was perfect. Everything went according to plan.

Ryan and Dani are the best kept secret of the BVI charter crews. Look no further if you need a crew. You just found the best.

Ron S, aboard Catamaran Frangines sailing the Virgin Islands

The entire cruise was fabulous! Ryan and Dani could not have been better. They focused on us and our needs. Rick and I both had some physical disabilities and they were always available to help us in and out of the dinghy, up and down the swim steps, in and out of the blow-up chair, etc.

Dani is a wonderful chef. Not only was her food delicious, it was always presented very attractively.

Frangines sailed like a dream. We had perfect wind every day and the crew handled the boat perfectly. The boat was in great condition when we arrived and was well-maintained the entire ten days. There were many comfortable places to rest, read and relax. Both the US and British Virgin Islands are great cruising areas. We enjoyed the scenery, all the anchorages the crew chose and the shore excursions as well.

Sailing Directions was very helpful and supportive throughout the process. We will certainly recommend your agency to our friends.
