Always warm and welcoming, courteous and professional, Richard and Adele will provide you with the vacation that you have dreamed of.
"Richard & Adele were incredible. Everything we could have ever hoped for. The food Adele was capable of preparing in a little boat kitchen was nothing short of amazing."
"Richard and Adele were amazing, unbelievably attentive and so accommodating. Couldn't have asked for a better crew!
Food was deliciously prepared and beautifully presented. Adele catered to the kids as well as the adults and vegetarians. Not a single complaint! Everything was perfect! 100% satisfied with Sailing Directions."See reviews

The boat was perfect for our group. Richard is the best of the best of any captain I have ever been around and Adele is a beautiful person with the greatest of skills and her food, preparation etc. is first class. We all had a great week and thank you for helping us secure the charter.

"Richard & Adele
WOW - Words cannot express our week with you both on board The Cure.... to say that our whole family are 'in love' with you both is an understatement....you are quite possibly earth angels!
Lisa's 40th birthday trip around the islands has been phenomenal from start to finish. The sights, sounds, tastes and experiences you have introduced us to are tattooed in our minds and hearts forever... (too many to list!)
The care, attention to detail, awesome food, drinks and story telling come from your genuine hearts and appears effortless, although we know you work super hard everyday to ensure our happiness - YOU ARE ROCKSTARS!!!
Our vacation was about family connection, fun, celebration and LOVE - We leave with two new members of our family and are so looking forward to continuing this amazing journey called life with you both!!!
We love you!
David, Pat, Nicola, Lisa & Buster "

Dear Richard & Adele
Thank you for a fantastic week on board The Cure. The boat and location are perfect, but your friendship is truly special. We look forward to our next journey together. Until then, we will hold you both close in our minds and hearts. You all are simply the best! OHANA...
Mariska & John
This was our second trip sailing in the BVI's and it was even better that the first time! You both are amazing people and we are so fortunate to have gotten to know you both. Adele, your cooking is awesome! Michael has never eaten so much before! Richard, you are an amazing Captain and thank you for letting Brian "help"!
We will truly miss you both.
Thank you so much for a trip of a lifetime.
We had so much fun bringing in the new year with The Cure, Whispers and Sasha! Richard you delighted the kids with so many fun activities they will never forget.
Come visit us anytime!
"Thank you" would be an understatement to express our gratitude for your hospitality on board The Cure this week. On behalf of Bob, Harrison, Hannah, Ava and myself, we had an absolutely splendid time cruising around the BVI's, enjoying Adele's delectable cuisine and Richard's attentiveness to our creature comforts. We so appreciate your camaraderie, good humor and sharp wit!
In such a short time it feels like we've known you for years.
Have a great 2016 and we look forward to hosting you in NYC in October.
Thanks a million for an amazing vacation!
Finally catching up on the crazy number of emails I got while we were away...
Anyways, we sure do miss you guys and the boat too! That was by far the best travel experience that we have ever had, hands down. I think you guys may have spoiled us for good! Peter Island probably would have been great if we had gone there first...but after experiencing the boat...we have come to the conclusion that resorts are boring!!! (other than dining with Tia Leoni....)
I already spoke to Kathy (who helped us book the boat) about next year...I can't see traveling in the Caribbean any other way....really
We are all so grateful to you and Adele for being such terrific hosts, expert navigators, excellent chefs and awesome adventure guides. Your attention to our children was far above and beyond the call of duty; especially the Easter egg hunt. You guys did an amazing job and we so appreciate it.
I would be happy to write you a letter of recommendation if you ever find yourself needing one...
We will send you some photos from the trip shortly (although I think the rum may have affected my "photographer's eye", wink, wink).
Also, you have us chatting about a South Africa trip....we'll see where it goes....
Take care and thanks again for everything-
Jeremy, Maria, Jackson and Celeste
I cant say enough about Richard and Adele. They are charming and capable as captain, crew, cook and companions. We would hire them again any time. The menu exceeded our expectations. It was not so exotic as to be off-putting but fresh, elegantly prepared and delicious. The BVI met our needs extremely well. My only criticism at all is that the St. Thomas airport and security are tedious. Better systems would enhance tourism and allow more time to spend money in St. Thomas rather than waiting in airport. Obviously, this is not within your control. Thanks for your help and advice. Regards, Peter
When you take a trip with your family, you often have such high expectations which are usually difficult to live up to... not the case here! From the moment we met Marks bright happy face and Kristen's beautiful smile, it has been nothing but fabulous five star service and downhome welcoming kindness! The beauty is not just outer beauty, but tremendous inner beauty. The entire experience has been fantastic... from the care you put into your boat and its cleanliness and appearance to the love and care you put into your service. Kristen, you truly have amazing talent as a chef. Your food rivals any we've ever had. Mark you knowledge and expertise as a captain is so calming and reassuring. Thank you for giving our family an experience they will never forget. Mark, you asked what our favorite vacation has been - hands down, it has been this trip we have shared with you both. I have loved every minute of it and we have loved getting to know both of you so intimately. You have a beautiful love for one another and it makes for a beautiful trip. This has been magical. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts! With love and admiration, Melanie, Mace, Meagan, Michele, Mason & Molly
We chartered a near identical boat this time last year, but our whole experience this time around is on another level and very different.
Kristen and Mark are th reason. They have made our dream vacation even more of a dream. They are in fact, a dream team!
They explained everything during the course of the trip, from the history of the islands, to the fish we saw snorkeling and to how to become better at meteorology! Graham is very proud of his new role as The Cure's Chief Meteorologist, as appointed by the Captain.
They were so kind and brilliant with Summer and Dexter, nothing was ever too much. Mark's love of having fun on the water was infectious. Safe fun, of course!
Kris's food and cooking was delicious. We wanted to stay healthy in our eating habits and Kris's menu planning meant that every meal was a masterpiece. And pretty good for us too. Christmas Day lunch was probably the highlight, though its tough to single one meal out as they were all winners.
The way Mark and Kris interact together is the key and it was lovely to have them care for us and look after us. We've learnt quite a few new Americanisms and when it comes to disembarking soon we're going to try the line "but we're still working on that" to see if we get to stay longer! Because its been that for sort of holiday for us.
Kris, Mark, thanks for everything and look forward to the next time....
With all our love from,
Summer, Graham, Lexie,
The strength of their character was immediately evident as we sailed into Bequia where we met "whistling Willy". It had been over six years since the Cochran's had been in the area, but Willy remembered and welcomed them as family. The spirit continued onto the island where as guests of The Cure we were immediately recognized as friends of the island-what an amazing feeling!
Our favorite day of all was a special little spot near Young Island where we kayaked, paddle boarded, hiked to the top of a historic cannon guarded fort, snorkeled until our fingers pruned and then refueled with the amazing meal. As the sun set, we sipped champagne on the bow and felt as if we were the only two people on earth - life's moment.
At the end of it all we think our trip can really be described with just one word _ MAGIC. #nofilter
Thank you to Mark & Kristen for the trip of a lifetime - we greatly enjoyed our time together!
Love, Nathalie & Adam
Our charter was fabulous on every level. Mark and Kristin were superb, loved by each of us and now friends for life. Nothing could have been better, from food to port, the very best.
