Michael has been captain of motor yachts, both private, charter and corporate, since 1999. During this time, he also worked for Princess Cruise Lines as a Chief Petty Officer in South America, Caribbean, Panama, and trans Atlantic to Europe.

.Although most of Michael's experience on the water has been on power boats, he also joined Marianne on their own sailboat for a trans Pacific voyage of 8,000 miles from Puerto Vallarta to New Zealand in 2002.

Captain McKee currently holds a Canadian 350 ton license (issued in 1990), with a 3,000 ton STCW endorsement.

In 1995 Marianne bought and skippered her own 39' sailboat, on which she cruised the Caribbean and Central America single-handed for three years. She then began working on private motor yachts in 2001She met Mike in 2001, and together they sailed her boat across the Pacific to New Zealand in 2002
