Captain Peter is originally from San Diego, California and has been surfing, fishing and diving all his life. Born to be on the water, he knew he would one day live on a boat and sail away to far off lands. After finding the perfect boat he cast off the dock lines and has called the Caribbean his home for the last five years. Peter has sailed to nearly all the islands in the Eastern Caribbean aboard his personal 47′ sailboat with his wife, Jody, baby boy, Brig, and their boat dog, Betsy.
After Graduating from California State University with a degree in Business Management Peter dabbled in selling Real Estate and restaurant management, but the ocean kept calling and he was soon ready to trade in the corporate conundrum for a life less ordinary. He has been island hopping around the Caribbean ever since. When not on charter Peter and his wife write about their adventures on their personal blog, WhereTheCoconutsGrow.com always in search of surf, sun, sand and serenity.
Peter has skippered fishing boats out of Ensenada, Baja and San Diego, CA . He has traveled extensively to Oahu, Maui, Panama, Nicaragua, Guatemala, Costa Rica, Mainland Mexico, all of Baja California, Canary Islands, Spain, Indonesia (Bali, Java, Timor), and most of the countries of the Eastern Caribbean. Peter has logged thousands of nautical miles as a commercial Captain running the #1 rated commercial sailboat, as well as the #1 “Thing to DO”, according to trip advisor, in the British Virgin Islands. He is very proud of his 5 star rating on trip advisor with hundreds of 5 star reviews. His charter boat also won the Virgin Island readers poll as the best day sail charter in the Virgin Islands in 2017. He has safely taken out thousands of guests who often would say that their time on board was the best part of their vacation. Unfortunately the charter boat Peter was operating was lost during the recent hurricanes so he and his family have recently relocated to the U.S.V.I. and are excited to start the next chapter in their lives with Paradise Yacht Management. ..read more
Along the way Peter has obtained his U.S.C.G. Master 100 Ton Captain's License with endorsements for Auxiliary Sail, Commercial Towing, STCW, HELM, as well as a Grade 1 BVI Yachtmaster License.
He finds the most joy in sharing his adventures with as many people as he can and has a passion for what he calls the 80-80-80 rule… 80° air temp, 80° water temp, 80′ water visibility. His incredible fish-eyes can spot marine life that is camouflaged to most of us, so grab your gear, jump aboard and let Peter sail you to some of the best anchorages that the Virgin Islands have to offer!
