Meet the Crew

Kyle & Alicia

Captain: Kyle Bilik

Dropping everything in your life and sailing away to a distant exotic paradise is a thought many people have from time to time; Vivo's Captain Kyle took an idyllic daydream and made it a reality. After purchasing a classic sailboat, Summerwind, in New York he took on the arduous and extensive task of repairs and restorations. Waving good-bye to his home port of Charleston, South Carolina his expedition to explore the Caribbean and the world began; but he decided to compete for the Guinness record for the slowest trip around the world so he was in no rush!

Captain Kyle grew up on boats and the nautical life became his passion. His mother is a hundred ton masters captain as is Kyles grandfather. He comes from a long lineage of sea-faring folk and spent the majority of his childhood and teenage years apprenticing aboard various vessels. Sailing the Bahamas in his teenage years Kyle quickly became aware that he wanted to make sailing and traveling his life ambition.

Leaving Charleston in March of 2014, Kyle sailed off for to discover the Caribbean. He sailed extensively throughout the Bahamas and spent a good bit of time in the out islands before exploring the Providenciales of the picturesque Turks and Caicos. The next stop on his unbeknownst path was the Dominican Republic; he lived in Luperon for a year and ventured through a majority of the country via motorcycle and Jeep. As charming as the DR was, Summerwind was not ready to grow an eco system on her hull, so Puerto Rico was next! Sailing the south shore brought some fantastic fishing and beautiful sights...read more

Throughout his travels he has made friends, sampled interesting cuisines, and partaken in cultural celebrations. Realizing he had some substantial repairs to attend to on Summerwind, St Croix, USVI became their place of residence for six months until he could sail to their next island St. John, USVI. It is at this point that Kyle was hired to be the next crew of Vivo, as his knowledge of the islands, adventurous spirits were considered to be the ideal assets for a captain serving charter guests.

Kyle is always ready to show you the time of your lives. But be warned, - there are known to be long lasting side effects ranging from unstoppable laughter to incredible adventures. Please ask your doctor if a Caribbean yacht charter with Kyle is right for you!

So Many Amazing Memories
My family and I went on vacation to the BVIs over Christmas. We've been on many vacations before and this was by far our favorite! Catamaran Vivo was a beautiful boat and there was plenty of room for all of us. Captain Kyle and Chef Alicia were the best part of the trip! They took us to so many different cool places and were so much fun to be around. We always had something new to do, and Kyle and Alicia did a great job of keeping us entertained and happy. Not only did Alicia's food taste amazing, but she went above and beyond by making it beautiful too. There were also snacks on the boat and she was more than willing to whip us up anything we needed. The trip was so much fun and so many amazing memories were made. We can't wait to be back!
Kyle and Alicia were Awesome!
We booked our trip well before Hurricane Irma and Maria hit the BVI's. In the aftermath of the storms, we were very concerned as to whether we would be able to go on our trip. Iyacthclub kept in touch with us and were very helpful answering our questions and concerns. Knowing that the trip would be a little different than what we originally expected, we packed our bags and headed to St Thomas.

Once we got on the boat, all of our concerns melted away. Vivo itself is a great boat, with plenty of room for the 5 of us and the crew! The boat was beautiful! We spent very little time in our cabins, which were spacious, and spent most of our time either on the front of the boat, the back of the boat or in the water! The boat also had plenty of water toys to keep us entertained.

Now for the best part! Kyle and Alicia were awesome! Alicia kept us well fed with her delicious creations and Kyle made sure we always had yummy cocktails on hand, We truly felt like they were family after the first day of the trip. Kyle captained the boat, fixed anything that needed fixing and took us on some incredible adventures. We snorkeled (they have the best equipment), explored water caves, fished, dove for lobsters (which Alicia made in to this incredible dip!), wake boarded, dinghy slinged and climbed rocks and jumped off some pretty high spots. Kyle knew some great spots, and we definitely had our adrenaline going! We also spent an amazing day (Christmas) exploring Anegada and celebrating the holiday with a lobster dinner at Potters followed by a dance and limbo party! I could go on and on about all the great things we did and how much we loved this trip.

I do think it's important to note that you will still see some devastating destruction in places, but you will also see green islands, beautiful blue water and many many signs of recovery and rebuilding. There were plenty of restaurants and bars open and we enjoyed all of the ones that we visited. I'm really not sure what we would have done differently had the hurricane not hit.

We cannot wait to go back!
I Cannot Say Enough Positive Comments About the Whole Experience
My wife, Marshall and I went on a 5 night trip with Kyle and Alicia and cannot say enough positive comments about the whole experience on Vivo. Along with us were some other friends, and this was the first trip such as this for all of us. We all left looking forward to the next time we could go back! In addition to Kyle and Alicia, I would like to thank the entire iYacht crew, Derek, Brenda and Julianna. Leading up to our trip, they all helped prepare to make this a special week for us all.

As for the week itself- if I had one word to describe Kyle and Alicia, I would say passionate. Kyle as a captain, and Alicia as a 5 star quality chef, are both passionate about their jobs. This comes through daily, and it helps everyone on the boat have a great time. With Kyle, we also really appreciated how professional he was with captaining the boat. He was very aware of safety and anything that could go wrong, helping us not have a concern in the world. With Alicia, I went hoping for good food. However, her cooking exceeded even our wildest expectations.

Thank you for making this a great experience. We look forward to seeing you again soon. ~The Wyker Group
The Crew Have a Passion For Their Job

Both Kyle and Alicia have a passion for their job and this was very evident. They made the week very enjoyable for all of us. We appreciate everything and look forward to our next trip in the not too distant future!~The Wykers and Robertsons

I recently chartered with Vivo for 6 days and 5 nights in the BVI. A friend and I stayed on board Vivo and had an amazing time. The service and attention we received from Alicia and Kyle was beyond our expectations. Both of them were very knowledgeable of the area and helped my friend and I (New Yorkers) warm up to life on the sea! Joanna F
