Mark - You'll find me in the water as much as on it, and I love to lead guided snorkeling safaris. Pointing out the amazing richness and variety of fish and wildlife the Caribbean Islands have to offer. I also love to fish and delight in helping you tempt a nice Tuna or Mahi-Mahi to your lure, or a Bonefish to your fly. When at anchor you may like to take some tuition from me on learning to Windsurf. Nothing gives me more pleasure than to assist a total novice in getting up and sailing with a little guidance and encouragement.
Sally - Having sailed with my father from before I could walk and having helped my mum in the kitchen from an early age I've always had a passion for sailing and food. Graduating from University in Food Technology I have loved creating dinner parties and varied social events or taking part in competitive sailing. I aspire to ensure our guests are able to relax, enjoy good cuisine, and have lots of fun experiencing The Caribbean on their dream vacation. We have always gelled as a team. Guests enthuse about our professionalism, hospitality, good humor and desire to live life to the full.
We excel at being great hosts and creating personalized, unforgettable vacations. Let us help you live the dream!See reviews

Our experience on Viking Dream was absolutely amazing, truly a dream vacation.
Mark and Sally were the perfect hosts - attentive in every way, friendly and very professional. They are expert sailors and put us at ease in how they handled the boat under all conditions. They customized the itinerary according to our desires and the activities we wanted.
The catamaran was comfortable, beautiful and kept spotlessly clean. The food and drink was way beyond our expectations - all highest quality gourmet meals, beautifully presented, including appetizers, snacks and cocktails every day.
Time was made every day for the activities we preferred- snorkeling, kayaking, sailing, relaxing and exploring the islands. Being a group of old geezers, they kept us safe and very happy.
Our charter broker John Lane from Sailing Directions was very professional and always got back to us quickly whenever we had a question.
Given the opportunity, we would love to sail with Mark and Sally again, and would very highly recommend them and the Viking Dream for a truly incredible vacation.
Bill W, aboard Catamaran Viking Dream sailing the Virgin Islands
Let me preface my review by saying this sailing adventure was one of, or maybe the best vacation I've ever taken. Sailing on the Viking Dream was beyond all my expectations.
The Viking Dream is an exquisite boat. Every inch of it is immaculate. It is Mark and Sally's home and they take great pride in it and it shows. The boat is spacious and extremely comfortable. I loved swinging in the hammock chair or lounging in the bean bag chairs and of course sunning on the deck. The state rooms are very good size (for boat living) and are appointed with plenty of cabinets, lockers and shelves to accommodate all of your gear. You want for nothing on the Viking Dream. Sally and Mark make sure you have everything and are always comfortable. Truly, we were treated like royalty. It was the most wonderful experience. On board the Viking Dream are all the water toys and equipment as advertised. My sisters, mom and I had a ball kayaking and snorkeling and tubing and paddle boarding. (There was even more to do like fishing and windsurfing, but we opted for more relaxing!)
Mark was great with making suggestions for activities and getting us to the best places to do them. He was always ready and willing to get our equipment ready for us.
Mark is a captain extraordinaire. Besides catering to his guests, he sails the Viking Dream with amazing skill and ease. Sally is his first mate. Together they work like a fine tuned machine, in tandem, seamlessly sailing and managing the boat. With Sally and Mark at the helm, you don't have a care in the world.
Sally is a chef beyond compare. She treated us to 3 meals a day ( and appetizers at cocktail hour) that dazzled both my taste buds and my eyes. Each was an exquisite masterpiece worthy of a photo in a cookbook. Day in and day out we were awed by Sally's decadent creations. Additionally, Sally considered all of our food preferences. I LOVED every dish she prepared (and was stuffed at the end of each meal.)
With 100% confidence I would recommend sailing with Mark and Sally on the Viking Dream. ( I already have!) If I ever have the opportunity to charter a boat again I would only sail on the Viking Dream.
Very truly yours,
What a way to ring in my 50th year! This trip has EXCEEDED our expectations in every way. We knew whichever port was around the corner or what delicious food would be put on the table, it was all nothing less than perfect.
We couldnt have asked for better hosts and company. We hope to set sail with you both and the Viking Dream again!
Thanks again for the PERFECT FAMILY VACATION

We had a WONDERFUL WEEK!
We have been pampered beyond our expectations. The three meals each day, and everything else have been fabulous.
The presentation of the food was outstanding. We appreciated and admire the work you do for your guests. Having sailed ourselves before, we know what effort it takes to make everything work.

In which Mark and Sally took a liking.
They escaped from the Swan to the Boat we are on.
One day we went sailing, when the winds were prevailing;
The spinnaker was raised, to all awe and praise!
At nine knots we were cruising, no one got a bruising, as we were all boozing!
Captain Mark led us on snorkelling excursions, often in places with real Fat Virgins.
Saw lots of coral & pretty fish, however Turtles were amiss.
On Saba Rock what a disgrace, when the Tarpon splashed Lauras face.
Back to the boat we went,
Viking Vibrations were spent!
Our palates were teased with all meals we were pleased.
Captains poison by Mark, includes stormy and dark.
The Admiral in the galley, creating dishes by Sally.
The Dreams been visited by Tom and Pete, and other guests that often repeat.
Who all try not to spill wine on the seat.
The red all soaked in not sure whether Cab or Zin,
But Tom and Petes napkins held it all in!:)
Pirate jokes were told they never get old!
The Trivia flies, Captain Mark is so wise.
We remember not one, so when we are back for more fun, booze and sun,
Repeating questions will fool everyone!
Sally won twice at the game of dice.
Captain called foul, saying it wasnt nice.
We were all the crew with nothing to do,
But to try hard to drink all of the brew.
All hail to the Queen,
This trip was a DREAM!
If you are reading this you know what we mean!!

Thank you for all your help,
Its difficult to describe on a page how incredible the experience was that you provided us this week. The boat was beautiful and spotless and extremely cozy and comfortable.
The food was so delicious that we cannot fathom how you could create it in a galley.
The sights and activities were so much fun that we cant decide what our favourites were. The nature walk with Mark? The Hot Dog? Snorkelling? Cow Wreck Beach?
With your indepth knowledge of the area, history, nature and sailing; every experience was that much more meaningful and FUN.
Meeting the two of you, and hearing your stories was also a joy. Not only did we feel spoiled beyond words, we also felt incredible safe in your well organised, thoughtful and careful hands.
Thank you so very much for everything and please do visit us in Rhode Island

11TH NOVEMBER 2015
Thank you for giving us a very memorable trip. From the time we stepped on board you created a wonderful, fun and family like experience. You led us to the best spots to snorkel, best for overnight and best for seeing the beautiful islands.
We cant imagine doing this with any other boat. We cant thank you enough for our wonderful vacation. We wont have another Rum Punch, Painkiller or even a touch of rum without these memories!
Kelly & Mark Lee, Cincinnati, Ohio, USA
Wonderful sailing, snorkelling and friendship in between 3 gourmet meals a day. Plus Appetisers that we often mistook for the meal itself!
Just a perfect week. We hope to see Captain Cocktail and Admiral Sally next year for another adventure. That gives us about 12 months to work off the excess!
Vacations dont get any better than this! We will miss you Mark & Sally.
Hank & Ruth Vacarro, Florida, USA
We will be happy to fill out the questionnaire below but can also give you a one word summary and brief commentary.
The experience with Mark and Sally was simply superb.
They are first and foremost highly competent sailors, with long prior experience with the Moorings, who know every square inch of their cruising area. Combine this with the fact that they are both former business professionals who have applied a feel at home, service first approach to the this business, and left no detail, small or large, unaddressed in their attempt to provide their guests with a safe and truly memorable cruising experience. Put another way, they absolutely know their stuff, and take great pride and personal pleasure in what they do, and it surly shows.
We went aboard strangers, and came away friends, and our family could not have asked more from this vacation experience.
Thank you Sonja---you made an excellent call with this recommendation to us.
Yacht: S/V Viking Dream
Date: December 29, 2012-January 5, 2013
Obviously since this is my second time, I have nothing but praise for Mark and Sally. Everything was better the second time around. To help express this, I had one of our other guests fill out the form. I have read though it and completely agree with everything she said.
Comment on the comfort onboard Viking Dream:
Even though this was my second trip aboard the Viking Dream, it still surprises me how much room there is in each of the cabins. My husband and I are very tall (64 and 510) and we slept comfortably in our cabin and had no issues with moving around in our cabin and anywhere else on board the yacht. We never lacked for space to put our belongings, even though we over packed again granted, we packed as recommended in soft duffle bags. Outside of the cabin was my favorite place to be and there was no shortage of comfortable places to get some sun or take a nap. I loved the sun awning that Mark put up for us over the nets when we got to our moorings/anchors for the evening.
Comment on the condition of Viking Dream:
It is obvious that Mark and Sally love their home and take pride in its condition. The Viking Dream is in phenomenal condition for being exposed to the elements all day, every day. There was never something missing or lacking aboard the Viking Dream and everything was in perfect working order.
Comment on the cleanliness of Viking Dream:
Mark and Sally keep the Viking Dream spotless. Its amazing to me how quickly they clean our cabins (during breakfast) and where they find the place to store our fresh linens (full change out mid-week). Everything is cleaned, locked down and put away before we sail and its simply amazing to watch Mark and Sallys efficient teamwork.
Comment on the congeniality of the Captain and crew:
You would be hard-pressed to meet two people that are more congenial than Mark and Sally. They welcome you like family the minute you meet them at the dock and are always happy to talk with you about the locals, the food, the snorkeling, the Viking Dreamreally anything you ask a question about, Mark and Sally are ready and excited to talk. Any company in the service industry would love to have people like Mark and Sally make their guests/customers feel welcome.
Comment on the service of the Captain and crew:
Mark and Sally are the best of the best when it comes to service. From having food or drinks ready whenever you want to catering the charter to the many activities six people can come up with, they go above and beyond. One thing I want to point out is that when we booked our charter for New Years Eve, Mark and Sally reached out to us immediately to see if we wanted to spend the holiday at Foxys. Our group decided to give it a go and Mark and Sally made sure they had a dock spot reserved in advance. Talk about quick service and planning ahead. They knew what the holiday would be like and made sure it was as easy and fun for us to enjoy as possible.
Comment on the fun aspect of the Captain and crew:
Mark and Sally are so much fun to be around. Some of our favorite parts of the charter are happy hour when they sit down and share their life stories. These two have some amazing experiences that contribute to their ability to make sure everyone they come into contact with has fun. We loved the new Viking Olympic Gamesand the old classics. The fact that they come up with new games keeps us veterans from learning the tricks and winning all the time. The Viking Dream also has an extensive array of water toys. The hot dog was new to us this time and had all of us laughing throughout the afternoon. We loved it and cant wait to see what else they come up with.
Comment on the expertise of the Captain and crew:
Being on the Viking Dream during Yacht Week, it became apparent just how experienced Mark and Sally are. We heard about runaway tenders and saw sailboats flailing about without full sails. Mark was always happy to answer my questions about where we were anchoring and why. Oh, and one day Sally did some fantastic maneuvering to get us into a tight mooring. These two are highly skilled and very cautious when it comes to safety and sailing.
Nevertheless, their expertise extends beyond sailing to the locals, the food Sally cooks, and the wonderful sea life we saw on our snorkel tours (to name a few). You can tell Mark and Sally are respected in the community when other charters stop by to say hello, when the dock attendants make sure they (and us) are happy, etc. Additionally, Sally was always happy to teach me a trick or two in the kitchen (thank you) and Mark has eagle eyesI swear. We saw so many sea creatures on our snorkeling adventures one would think we were diving. It was great to be able to vaguely describe some fish I saw and Mark could pull out a book and point it out for me.
Comment on the quality of your meals:
I still havent lost the 10 pounds I put on from the last time I was on the Viking Dream. We love Sallys cooking. She accommodated us by providing our favorites and surprised us with some new favorites. It is such a tough decision whether to tell her what we love or let her surprise us. Sally is a world-class chef. One thing I want to point out is that she accommodated two of our pickier eaters with no onions or mushrooms, while the rest of us could enjoy them.
Comment on the presentation of your meals:
In a past life, Sally was DaVinci especially with desserts!
Would you charter this yacht again? (Circle one) YES NO
Absolutely! This is a once in a lifetime vacation that should not be taken only once in a lifetime. This vacation was more relaxing, enjoyable, and fun than my honeymoon two months prior.
Yacht: S/V Viking Dream
Date: December 27, 2010-January 3, 2011
Comment on the comfort onboard Viking Dream:
It was extremely comfortable! We were all thrilled to have bathrooms in all of our cabins, too!
Comment on the condition of Viking Dream: Extremely clean, cozy and perfect!
Comment on the cleanliness of Viking Dream: A++ Its obvious Mark and Sally are passionate about their boat, and it shows how much they love and care for it.
Comment on the congeniality of the Captain and crew: Perfect! They made us feel as if we were their family.
Comment on the service of the Captain and crew: Beyond our expectationsthe level of service was incredibly awesome!
Comment on the fun aspect of the Captain and crew: Mike, and I and our 2 children, Christina and Dillon all agreed that it was our most FUN and BEST family vacation, ever! The Viking Olympics were a blast!
Comment on the expertise of the Captain and crew: We always felt safe and in great hands. We were so impressed how Mark and Sally worked so well together helping each other drive the boat, raise sails, etc..and they never argued about itha!
Comment on the quality of your meals: Perfect! We were blown away at the fact that all meals everyday were of 5-star quality.unbelievable considering the small area they have to prepare meals. They were all delicious!
Comment on the presentation of your meals: Beautiful presentations! We were so impressed with all of the different place settings each meal and the adorable-shaped napkins!
Would you charter this yacht again? (Circle one) YES NO YES!!! Most Certainly! We have told many, many people about our incredible vacation and highly recommend the Viking Dream/Mark and Sally!
1. Was the crew friendly and accommodating?
Most definitely. We could not have asked for anyone better able to take care of 3 very different couples.
2. Was the yacht comfortable and clean?
Immaculate yet comfortable. We felt very confident that the quality would surpass our expectations for the duration of the trip.
3. Was the yacht well ventilated?
We had a fairly constant breeze so there was very good ventilation. I would expect that this would be the case even without the winds we experienced.
4. Was the food good and well presented?
The food was exceptional and several people in our group gave the quality and presentation a 5 star rating.
5. Did you like the area you sailed?
Mark and Sally took no time at all to discover our preferences and brought us to places that fulfilled our wishes, ie. snorkelling, shopping, dinners on shore, etc.
6. Could we have helped you further in any way?
The service and attention we received was second to none and other than carry our luggage I cannot think of another thing they could have done for us on this trip.
7. May we post this review on our website?
8. Additional comments on your charter?
This is the first time the six of us have travelled as a group and the first time 3 of the group had been on a sailing trip such as this. Everyone, with no exception, raved about the whole trip and are anxious to go again. We thank you for suggesting Mark and Sally and we especially thank Mark and Sally for making this experience something all of us will remember for a very long time. All the best and happy sailing to all of you. Judy

We feel VERY LUCKY to have been your guests and we feel VERY LUCKY to have made new friends in you both.
We loved hearing of your year long World Travelling adventure. You have inspired us and we look forward to our next sailing with you and hearing more about it.
THANK YOU AGAIN FOR A GREAT VACATION it will go down in our books as one of our best.
Warm wishes for safe travels,
Deb, Eric, Alex and Sam Schurr
Day 1 - Be met by Captain Mark at Beef Island Airport, who will have the Viking Dream tender 5 minutes away, to take you across to Trellis Bay, where Sally will have a welcome drink ready for you as you board. Have lunch aboard, then a gentle sail to Cooper Island for snorkeling and a stroll on the palm fringed beach of Manchioneel Bay. Enjoy cooling Sunset Cocktails & Hors d'oeuvres and dinner under the stars.
Day 2 - After a leisurely breakfast, sail to The Baths on Virgin Gorda, have fun exploring the grottos amongst these huge granite boulders, then snorkel with the vibrantly colored tropical fish. After a light lunch sail upwind to Virgin Gorda's beautiful North Sound, home of the world famous Bitter End Yacht Club. Step ashore at BEYC to stretch your legs and explore the beach, boutiques, bars and restaurants of this upscale resort. For the more active, rent a Hobbie Cat and have an exhilarating sail across the sound.
Return to Viking Dream for one of 'Captain Cocktails' creations! (Virgin Cocktails also a specialty). Sally will have a little something prepared to sharpen your appetite for your alfresco dinner. After your dessert you could play a board game or head ashore for some Caribbean live music.
Day 3 - Wake to the aroma of freshly brewed coffee bought to your cabin on request. After today's breakfast selection, enjoy a great sail to the BVI's northern most island of Anegada, an expansive Coral atoll with endless white sand beaches and azure blue waters. After lunch take a short ride across the island to Loblolly Bay and some of the best snorkeling in the islands, with huge coral stacks and deep chasms in the reef abundant with exotic sea life.
Return to the mother ship for a late afternoon snooze to prepare yourself for a late afternoon Sundowner of the day, which will probably be a 'Blue Lagoon', matching the vibrant color of Anegada surf. You'll sense more tantalizing aromas from the galley as Sally prepares to tease your taste buds with tonight's creations. Play some of your holiday tunes on Viking Dreams all-round sound system or lay under the stars and let Mark help find your birth sign constellation.
Day 4 - Open your cabin door to the smell of freshly baked croissant. Sit and read while Sally serves your breakfast. Then set sail for Guana Island and the Marine National Park at Monkey Point. Snorkel with myriad shoals of fish and colorful corals. We often see turtles and tarpon here. After lunch, a gentle downwind sail along the dramatic north coast of Tortola to Cane Garden Bay, a beautiful palm lined beach with a lively Caribbean feel. Swim, Kayak, or take a dinghy ride to the beach and soak up the Tortolan atmosphere.
Cocktail hour back on Viking Dream, while the sun sets over the islands ends another perfect day, followed by good food and good company.
Day 5 - Wake up to find your hosts have moved your yacht to an idyllic desert island, where the sky kisses the white sand and the sand kisses the ocean. No it's not a dream; this is just another day in paradise. We're at Sandy Spit and after breakfast you can stroll on the sand with the sea lapping your feet. Have a go at windsurfing. Mark delights in teaching novices or can help improve your skills. If you're not laughing and having fun falling in, you're not trying hard enough!
After lunch sail down to Great Harbour on Jost Van Dyke, home of the world famous Foxy's, where you are often entertained by Foxy himself. We overnight in one of JVD's very secluded anchorages as pelicans dive for their supper, just relax under Caribbean skies and gentle breezes.
Day 6 - Need a gift for family or friends? We head for the colorful waterfront of Sopers Hole on Tortola, for some of the best gift stores in the BVI. Then an invigorating sail upwind to Norman Island of piracy fame, for our lunch stop at The Caves. Another Marine National Park that provides stunning snorkeling, as the colors explode in the afternoon sun. The adventurous swim into the caves where pirates of old stashed their booty!
As the sun starts to dip we can either head into The Bight for some lively nightlife at the famous floating bar 'The Willy T', or to the seclusion of beautiful Benures Bay. The choice is yours, party or peace and tranquility.
Day 7 - We don't have far to go today, so take a late breakfast, a relaxing swim or kayak before we head for The Indians for snorkeling. The Indians are large rock pillars rising from the sea bed that abound with a rich variety of fish, sponges and corals. Just hang with shoals of Sergeant Majors and Creole Wrasse as they feed on rich plankton blooms. Lunch here then head to Little Harbour on Peter Island, an idyllic anchorage where we relax for the afternoon. For the younger and 'older' children amongst you, we can take you for an exciting ride behind the dinghy, take a kayak round the bay or just relax on a noodle in the water.
After sunset, a fun thing to do is to let Mark guide you on a night snorkel! You will see interesting creatures such as Banded Shrimp, Lobster and Octopus.
If you like, tonight is Champagne Cocktail night, followed by Sally's ultimate creation!
Day 8 - After a relaxing start, take the wheel as we sail the Sir Francis Drake Channel back to Trellis Bay. We reminisce over a rum punch and toast great company, great sailing and having 'Lived the Dream'.
