Captain Daniel Penning is a Dutchman by birth, a highly experienced sailor with a MCA 200 ton Yacht Master license. He is energetic, outgoing, and always wearing a smile. Most recently, Daniel was the captain of a sailing yacht, out of St. Maarten, on which he spent a great deal of time getting to know the Leeward Islands. He has been working on yachts in the Caribbean since 2005 and joined Texas Star in 2009.

Daniel started sailing when he was four years old. Previous to his yachting career, Daniel worked as an assistant harbor master, sailing instructor and service coordinator for a mega-yacht electrical systems firm. Daniel has superior hospitality skills and a refreshing curiosity about people and new places.

He has also completed a Business & Leisure Management degree, and a Hotel/Restaurant Management education Daniel's personal interests include sailboat racing, water sports, SCUBA diving and traveling.

Texas Star's crew is rounded out with a Chef, Stewardess and Mate.
